I’m almost 4 months post op
It’s been 4 months and I look completely different now. A lot of people think I lost weight but actually it’s just my face. The full swelling took about a month to go away and the pain about 3 weeks. The scarring is definitely hard to see and I am so happy there is no sagging just like Dr. Oh said. These days I like to wear my hair up all the time since my jaw line from the side looks much better. I am very happy about my look and I am considering going to Regen and get additional work done on my eyes.
My 2nd Surgery on Zygoma
A few years ago I got a cheekbone procedure done in Singapore to reduce the width of my face. I naturally have a lot of skin on my face regardless of my weight including wide cheekbones so I sought a surgeon in Singapore and got a gyzoma reduction and had about 2mm cut from each cheek. To summarize everything, I paid a lot of money for barely noticeable results (it’s been 3 years) and planned to get revision surgery done somewhere else. Fast forward to 2 months ago I ended up being in a consultation with Dr. Myung June Oh whos well known in Singapore as well. He looked at some of the CT scans I took and talked to be about my previous surgery and asked why the surgeon only cut 1-2mm, well that’s why I was there. He impressed me quite a bit in our first meeting compared to the surgeons from Won Jin and Cinderella clinics.
He asked how much narrower I would like my face and he said he would reposition the cheek bones by rotating them inwards instead of cutting directly to prevent sagging. I would be able to leave the same day of the surgery. I selected Dr. Oh to be my surgeon and I went through the paperwork and payments with their English consultant Soo Yun.
Surgery Day
On the day of the surgery I waited around 30 minutes in their main lobby (11 floor) and spoke with two Singaporean women who were getting thread lifts. It’s a really neat feeling meeting people from your country in another country, especially a clinic. A nurse came and took me to one of their top floors (13 or 14 not sure) and got me to change and prepped me for surgery with a few checkups. One thing I didn’t like was the lighting in hallways was too dark and it kind of had a spooky feel but the operating room looked fine. I saw Dr. Oh once again and we had a short chat before I went to sleep.
After Surgery
My face was hurting bad, much more than I remember from my previous surgery. My face was swollen like crazy but I kind of felt like its because my face is getting much smaller that its so swollen. Crazy logic I know. The nurse gave me a list of do’s and don’t’s and said I can head to my hotel after a couple of hours. I waited until my anesthesia effects were gone and I felt normal and told the nurse I was ready to leave. One of their staff came down to first floor with me and helped me get my prescription meds from the pharmacy, she also got a cab for me which was nice and gave me a face mask to cover my swollen face. Back at the hotel I could not help but look at my face on my phone. I video called my mom and my best friend and they were all so shocked to see my face and my mom cried a little. Anyways I remember being incredibly bored for about two days and took like 500 or so selfies with my swollen face which of course I won’t show. I went back to regen a week after surgery and they removed the threads and I got some additional laser treatments for the skin and then went back to Singapore.
