Week 7 post op

WORTH IT$17,000
I started back to work this week. So far so good. My job is physically demanding and I’m on my feet all day. I am not doing any heavy lifting though. The afternoon swelling is real so as soon as I get home I rest with my feet propped up.
Scar treatment was started 2 weeks ago. I am using Skin Medica at the recommendation of my doctor. It is applied over the tape just as the Polysporin has been. He also released me for moderate exercise so I am back in the gym at 5 am 3-4 times a week and walking 2 miles most evenings.
My tummy does not feel as tight as it did. I think that is normal as I have read other reviews that say the same thing. I am a little disappointed that I can actually “suck in” now. I must be more careful with portion sizes of my meals. Lol
All in all, I am so happy I had this procedure, am definitely pleased with my results and thankful that there has been no issues with healing and recovery. I do have the
“Love/Hate” relationship going on with my Spanx. I still wear it everyday and even to bed most nights. It just feels so weird without it. I am going to try giving it up at night. My husband would be much happier! Lol

Oh my gosh you look awesome! Glad to hear work is going well and that you are doing well overall :)
That is weird, I too can still "suck it in".... I'm hoping it's just swelling and that it'll settle. i'm like, WTF why is my tummy still protruding? I have a bulge that's bugging me too; I started back at yoga, but my PS didn"t give me the green light for the gym yet.. I'm going back at Christmas, enough is enough.. You look, awesome.. and those measurements !
Thank you ladies :)
Oh my gosh!!!! Your measurements are fantastic! you lost over 5 inches!! I am 5 weeks and still at least 2 inches bigger then before surgery. I wonder if mine could possibly go down that much in two weeks!! in two weeks I hope I'm at least at pre-surgery measurements! I've got all fingers and toes crossed!
Hi there! Just checking to see how you are doing? Hope all is well with you :)

One month post op

A few thoughts on my first month of recovery...
It has been easier than I ever expected, however, I have been lucky to have had no complications. It is still early so I know things can happen. My biggest discomfort has been the swelling after doing too much or being on my feet for too long. I have been sleeping in my bed for over 2 weeks, propped up on pillows and one under my knees. Sleeping on my side is getting easier. I have lost 10 lbs, 4 inches off my waist and back in my size 6 jeans. They are actually loose in the waist! That has never happened!
Hope you all are healing well, dealing with the swell and for those that are “on the fence” about having this surgery....just do it!

Moving right along....

I seem to be doing well so far, although the doctor did think I had quite a bit of swelling and possible fluid below my tummy incision.
He numbed me up and stuck a needle in waaaay low (really close to my vajayjay!)
But he didn’t get a lot out. He just told me to take it easy and rest. So that’s what I’ve been trying to do. Another trip with the hubs to Walmart yesterday and I did fine. I insisted on pushing the buggy again. Lol
I started my hormone again this week. I went off of them 9/30/17, surgery was 10/17/17. I never really had any hot flashes or symptoms but my OB/GYN says to start taking again as they help protect from osteoporosis. So that’s reason enough for me!
I do have a tiny area in the middle of my incision that is a little dark. The nurse says it’s a scab and will fall off. But I have been on RealSelf long enough to know that a dark spot can go really bad. So I am watching it closely. Dr. Chase didn’t seem concerned with it at all and said he would see me in 3 weeks. I guess that was a little comforting that he wanted to wait that long to see me again.
Otherwise, I am soooo pleased with my results and stand in front of the mirror several times a day in disbelief that it is really me.
Here’s some pics I took this week and this morning. I like morning pics better because I feel super flat.

You look a lot flatter than me! You're lucky ... my PS doesn't numb me when she attempts to drain! I grin and bear it! I'm like you ... no fluid but I am soooooooo swollen! It's almost 5 weeks for me and I'm still a bubble!
Happy to hear you are moving right along and glad to see you are doing well. Looking great so far!
