I have tossed the idea of a tummy tuck around for about 20 years! I exercised all my adult life and have tried every diet plan and magic bullet diet pill that seemed viable and nothing every brought me to a place where I was comfortable with my body. Now that I hace hit 45 and my children are in their 20's, I felt comfortable enough to pursue the procedure. I initially was scheduled with Huntsed-Kortesis but during the pre-op appointment, the financial representative was rude and gave me a bad feeling. I interviewed other practices and chose the Refine Institute.
I was introduced to Dr. Augenstein and immediately felt like I was in the right place. I scheduled the procedure that same day!

Still swollen and hurting!

Well... i thought I could beat the odds and be on my feet by week 3--- NOT... I still cant stand up straight and trying to get into a comfortable sleeping position is still a mission. I do ok with a light stretch with my back up against the wall, but as soon as I sit down and get up, my lower back BURNS and my dreaded hunched over position returns with tightness at the bottom of my rib cage. Im holding on to see what week #4 brings. :-)

I promise you the more you walk around, the better you will feel. My lower back also hurts but I've found that sleeping in an upright position helps (try a wedge pillow-can be found on Amazon), also wearing compression garment works wonders for back support. I find that I'm able to stand up straight with it on and I'm a little shy of 2 weeks post op. Stomach muscles are still severely tight and skin stretched so tight over muscles that it itches and makes bending/reaching or turning difficult, but the garment helps. I hated it because it's too tight, but I do see the benefits.
