I have not had any cystic breakouts, just little white pimples that go away within a day. I go some days without make up and receive many compliments. I use indian healing clay mask monthly and moisturize with palmers coco butter oil and ambi cream. Overall, I am glad i chose accutane. For those that are getting started, it really works and words of encouragement, be patient if you dont see results right away...they will come.

Omg! My face looks exactly like yours did and I’m 4 months in and still have severe scarring! Why won’t my scars clear like yours I’m so depressed about my scars! I just want to be makeup free!

Ok I now see that you went 6-8 months. I was hoping I only needed this for 3-4 months. I guess patience is needed :-(

Hi what was your weight that you had to take such a high dose? Thank you.

I was on acutane for 8 months started with 20mg ended at 80mg, gradually increased over the course of those months. I am 5'5 was 170-175 during the time I was taking acutane. I didnt see drastic results till month 5 but it is the best decision I have ever made in my life. It truly change my life. I have been off it since June 2018 and I NEVER break out. My skin is flawless Dont even wear makeup any more. The journey wasnt easy but it was 100% worth it if youre thinking about doing it DO IT! Its worth the hassle. Best of luck to you!

The dosage also depends on the severity of the persons acne.

I'm 5 4 and weigh 110. I am taking 40mg and will end in Jan of 2020. I am loving the results as well. Can't wait to get off of it to work on my pitted scars with laser treatments. Thank you for sharing

I have been off of accutane for 3 months now and I am still a satisfied user. I wear less makeup on a daily basis and have gotten many compliments for how good my skin looks. I have not broken out whatsoever since i'll completed my 6months. I have started back getting my eyebrows waxed and tattoos. So far no complaints. I have been using indian healing clay face mask as posted. I used the mask 3 times a month.

HI Jasmine! I am glad to read/see you had such great results! I have just finished my treatment. I am very nervous that once my body is rid of the medicine that it will start to produce acne again. I realize this is likely a fear everyone experiences, but seeing your post gives me some hope! Was your skin oily prior to treatment? I am curious if so, did it return to the same normal oil level post-treatment as it was before? Because of course, besides the acne, my face was an oil slick and I have been loving how my skin looked and felt during treatment - never having to worry about shine. Thank you for your comments and for the great blog! ~Beth

Hey Beth, I worried as well, thinking the breakouts stayed away because i was taking the meds. I have had a few small pimples and they were very smalls, didnt leave a mark small. I haven't had any cystic breakouts like prior to treatment and yes my skin was oily before the meds but it is no longer oily like before. No worries Beth. You will be A okay.

Your skin looks fabulous!! Mine did too for the first few days off Accutane, but day 4 I did break out in a few small pimples. I am trying not to stress and the derm was surprised but said we will keep an eye on it and begin another cycle if necessary. My issue is I am pre-menopausal so we feel that hormones are going to be an issue. May even need to go on a low dose daily through this.
Anyway, Thank You for your honesty and kind words! Your posts have helped me through this journey tremendously. Be well and enjoy your beautiful new skin!
