Reviews you can trust, from real people like you.
How it works
  • Our highly-trained Review Moderation team evaluates all reviews before they're published to ensure they're written by people like you and not a member of a doctor's office.
  • This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.
  • Doctors can't pay to have reviews removed or hidden.
  • Reviews are only removed at the reviewer's request or if they violate our Terms of Service.

If you have questions or believe we should re-evaluate a published review, let us know.

Two years later

So, I read another reviewer call recovery from this as a “walk through hell”, but still worth it. I cannot agree more. Between the milia on my chin and putting Aquaphor on my face (and then accidentally getting it in my eyes—oops!), then Crisco-ing up my face for what felt like an eternity, I hated every healing moment with this. BUT...it was totally worth it. No more of the fine lines around my mouth (I am not a smoker, but I love to whistle, and I imagine anyone still loving to play their high school band/orchestra wind/brass instrument can share in that wrinkly annoyance of a side effect). I would even consider doing it again, but am so, so afraid to do it under local anesthetic (total baby about pain). I may start checking it out again when I’m ready, which may be sooner than I think if I don’t cut back that happy whistling habit, LOL. :-)

Day 18

Ugh. I still can't open my mouth much. The skin at the margins of my lips feels sooooo tight, like it will crack if I move it too much. I am slathering on the moisturizer and generously applying lip balm, even just off my lips themselves. I'm trying not to be impatient for my healing.

Day 14 Addendum

I forgot to mention that today was the first day I wore my contacts. They went in and came back out with little trouble despite my eye work and my eyes are still pretty clear from those blessed steroid drops. :-)
