Provider Review

Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon
2311 M St. NW, Washington, District of Columbia
Overall rating

I was searching for a facial surgeon with experience and skill, and is very personable, to minimize sagging and wrinkles due to age (60). I also wanted such a surgeon to expertly perform a rhinoplasty procedure I've always wanted. I don't reside near the DC area, but in a mid-sized town in a neighboring state, which did not offer a surgeon with these qualifications. I decided to consult with Dr. Chaboki, based upon the positive comments on this site (and on “Yelp”). In our initial consultation, I was pleased to confirm many of the traits that I was seeking, or noted in other reviews: the doctor is conservative, surgically-speaking; he didn't over-promise results, nor “hard-sell” procedures. It seemed that he would not perform work of which he did not agree would be complementary to my face. This attitude was not objectionable as his opinion aided my ideas of what procedures, and the degree, I wanted to be performed. Additionally, he has a very calm demeanor which I found reassuring, and hoped was a natural state in which he operates (pun intended :) ). We had subsequent conversations via phone, due to the distance constraint, in which he continued to answer my additional questions. In all consults, he encouraged, and answered all questions. I decided to proceed! The surgery went well, to my great relief. The high point was my review of his work, just after surgery, and prior to swelling (began the next day) – his work was very good, appeared to be exactly what I wanted, and as discussed in our pre-op consult...I was very pleased! (I have a rather “critical eye”) There was virtually no pain after surgery; regular Tylenol for 2 days easily eliminated the trivial amount. It has been eight weeks since surgery, and swelling has mostly subsided. My recovery is asymmetric; one side of a feature appears more “normal”, whereas the other is retarded in progress; eg, my right vs. left eyelid. But the pace of recovery appears normal, as confirmed by a conversation with the doctor at this juncture, and I am cautiously optimistic. I look forward to updating my review in several months with the good news that my features have the appearance I wanted, and as observed right after surgery. I'm pleased to have engaged the services of Dr. Chaboki - the crux being his work was as precise as I hoped I would find. Likewise, his personable and professional manner was important to me, before, and after surgery. I appreciated his availability, via his cell number, after surgery; his surprise acquaintance with my husband (who was waiting patiently) right after surgery, to apprise him of my status - this was a very nice gesture!, as well as his call at this eight-week mark, to discuss the progress of my recovery. He also recommends an office visit at the one-year mark, at which final results are generally expected, on the "outside". I highly recommend Dr. Chaboki for facial surgery, given my impressions, and experience with, as discussed above.
