After much research, I finally decided to do CoolSculpting in September of last year. I chose the Z Center for Cosmetic Health in Sherman Oaks, CA because they have an actual physician who does the consult and oversees the procedure. After having 2 kids I was back at my pre-pregnancy weight but I had a problem area in my lower abdomen that I really wanted to flatten. I'm so glad that I tried CoolSculpting before considering a tummy tuck or lipo as surgery and the recovery time would have put me out months which I could never do with work and kids. Thankfully, I was a good candidate for CoolSculpting and I'm very happy with the experience and my results so far.
As far as the procedure goes, yes, it definitely is cold, but the worst it gets is a numbing feeling. For me, the only part that was a bit uncomfortable is when they massage the area after the treatment, but it's definitely more than tolerable. The treatment took two hours because they used one applicator on each side to cover as much area as possible of my lower tummy. I watched a movie during the procedure so time went by quickly (it was even a nice escape from my kids, I never get to watch a movie alone!). My abdomen did feel number after the procedure for about 2-3 weeks. It was a strange feeling for it to be numb, but I wasn't in any pain. I was able to go back to work immediately and take part in all of my usual activities including working out, lifting & holding my kids up etc. Things I know I couldn't have done if I had surgery of any kind.
My results are really good after just 1 treatment and I'm very happy with my overall experience with CoolSculpting at the Z Center for Cosmetic Health. I've attached a before photo which I took right after the procedure that day (you can see the markings on my belly) and the after is a picture 1 month later after 1 treatment. You can see that my lower belly is less rounded and flatter just after one month. I'm so happy that I could get this result without any surgery and without having to miss a day of work. Very easy and worth the money. I highly recommend for people with small problem areas that they'd like to flatten out.

I can't believe how dramatic of a change happened after your procedure! Now that you're 4 months out, do you notice any additional changes with your stomach getting flatter or maybe reversing? It would be interesting to see a post from you after another 4 months. Good luck and thanks for sharing!

Hi bklyn, thanks! I'm about 6 months out now and I have noticed additional changes. I've posted a recent pic for you to see, I definitely think my tummy has flattened out more and I'm still very pleased with the outcome. Thanks for the kind note!

I'm amazed at the change in your 1 month pic - the 6 month is encouraging but ... even at 1 month - I have NOT had results like this and I'm at month 2. I haven't had to change but I eat healthy 85% of the time and work out 3-5 days a week anyhow - but definitely not the results you have shown . And this is just 1 treatment on the ab and 1 month?

Wow indeed! Congrats momish! That tummy looks fab! I just had my lower abdomen done 4 days ago. Procedure experience was same as your but I am now experiencing some tolerable discomfort ... Numbness, soreness, stinginess, swelling.I Live an active lifestyle but I haven't been to the gym since the procedure. Plan to resume on Monday with light exercises till I am more able to do more. There has been no downtime though so that's really great. My question for you is.... Do you think the additional results post the advised 12 weeks effective period was due to ur lifestyle/workout efforts? I really want to know if having this procedure will increase effect of my workout going forward. That will be great. If this works as expected, I will get my inner thighs and underarms done as well, over time.

hi, your results look great. do out have anymore pictures? how many applicators did the use on you? and how long ago did you have your kids? I had my first 7 months ago & am considering it.

Be careful. My stomach actually got bigger. Diagnosed with PAH. Only way to be corrected now is with lipo. I would avoid. Not worth the risk reward.
Wow, your results are incredible for only after 1 treatment! I am thrilled for you. I would love to get rid of my belly...seems to be a constant battle for me! Did you make any changes to your diet and exercise routine after the procedure? Are you planning on having any other CoolSculpting treatments? Thanks so much for sharing your experience on RealSelf.
