I had my surgery today. I'll rate and give my final review in a month or so, maybe six.
I've felt my chin and neck, as well as my jowels starting to sag over the last decade. I tried laser once (deep fx) and had good results for a short time. I then attempted laser treatments for age reversal and it was a disaster. Making my skin crepey and looking old and dry. One last attempt at laser non surgical correction left my lower face and jowels distressing. I stopped looking in the mirror. I started researching how to fix the damage. I came to the conclusion that surgery was the only option to fix the damage and turn back the damage and aging I'd caused as well as natural aging.
I interviewed/consulted half a dozen Drs and had given up finding one that wasn't cocky, or presumptive. One that listened to me, didn't attempt to oversell or push off my concerns as if they were not worth being concerned about. I did find one dr that fit the bill except in price. I'd considered going out of state at one point but shelved my plans until my sister in law discovered Dr Kim.
Dr Kim did a neck lift for my sister-in-laws friend. My sis-in-law was so wowed she scheduled Her own neck loft. I was so wowed by her results, I went in for a consultation. I scheduled my own surgery and here I am. He is friendly, professional, and knowledgable.

So Far So Good
need2BhappyAugust 29, 2015
I spent two days at my daughters watching TV and sleeping. It was helpful that she was my dispensary as I'm pretty sure I took two valium and no pain pills the first night, not comfortable. I took a shower 48 hours after my surgery - using water and baby shampoo only. no soap, no conditioner. Then I went home.
Four days later, the sides of my face are totally swollen giving me an alien look (to my eyes) ;) I am now bruising a little on one side of my face, but I think that may be in part to my inability to keep the strap on my chin - the pain in my ears is to much, I can put the strap on for quite some time and then off for about 20 minutes.
The muscles on the side of my neck are corded and thick. I think they are relaxing a bit but are probably bunched a bit as the s lift requires the muscle is pulled back and sutured.
I am pleased with my jowels and my saggy cheeks (saggy no more) and am surprised and pleased at the difference in my eyes as well.
The staples and stitches around my ears and along my temple are only noticeable (I believe) because they are still dark and crusty (sorry) with blood. I'll post todays pics from my phone. Can't wait till the stitches are out on Monday.
The only downside is that we did a big mudrun the Saturday before, and have another run planned in 6 weeks, but I'm not allowed to cardio for 6 weeks. I'm gonna die (Zombie run - they will def catch me... oh well)
