Hopefully the selfies I'm attaching of my surgery will be good enough to show the difference Dr. Brent Smith made on my face and neck. He did an exceptional job on my jowls, jaw line and neck. His support team is incredible. From the time I first contacted his office to my follow-ups after surgery, his staff have been attentive and supportive.
I did my homework before I chose Dr. Smith. I found his fees reasonable compared to other plastic surgeons in the area and appreciated the fact that he didn't charge a $100 consultation fee. He answered all my questions, was never too hurried, and I was even able to get an appointment quickly for a second consultation before I made my decision. From start to finish he treated me with genuine care.
I'm not sure what else I can add. I am an actual patient of Dr. Smith's, 64 years old and very active. I believe that now I look as young as I feel.

Would you mind sharing the cost? How was your recovery? You look fantastic! Thanks!

Thank you! I remember the first time I saw that loose skin hanging under my chin in a photograph…it was a depressing moment. I then took an honest look at my face in the mirror and saw the jowls and it was like my mother was looking back at me.
The recovery went a lot faster than I expected and this might have been the result of using the hyperbaric chamber. It involves breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized chamber in order to accelerate the healing process and decrease the bruising and swelling. It's your choice whether you want to use it or not. There are also vitamins and supplements Dr. Smith requires you take two weeks prior to your surgery. One of them is Arnica, which is commonly used by naturopathic doctors to reduce bruising and swelling. I was "uncomfortable" for a couple of days, but everything started improving rapidly by the third day and within two weeks I was ready to go out in public (wearing make-up). All my incisions have completely healed and you can't even tell where they were anymore.
As far as the cost, I don't know what the breakdown was as I had a few other things done as well – fat transfers in my nasolabial folds and in my upper lip. I think the surgery or treatment plan is customized to each person, so the actual costs will probably vary. Dr. Smith doesn't charge any consultation fees either. I consulted with several other plastic surgeons. Some were less expensive and some were more. In the end, the difference in fees was not the most important factor to me. I was fortunate to know two people who had face and neck lifts done by Dr. Smith and their results were enough to convince me to choose him. Hope this helps.

Thank you...it does help. I live in the Denver area and am just starting my research. I do like that he does not charge a consultation fee. I am 57 and, like you, am seeing my mom in the mirror. Friends that are my age don't have the sagging jaw line and neck that I do. I don't know anyone personally that has had this done so referrals and reviews are really important. Did you have general anesthesia? Thanks for your time :)

It's unusual that friends your age don't have any problems with a drooping neck or jowls. I thought that was just a natural part of the aging process for both women and men. What I've learned is that if you want the best possible results, go to a plastic surgeon who specializes in that area. I did not have general anesthesia…really thankful for that. Believe me, I would not recommend him if I didn't think he was the best doctor for your neck, jowls and lower face. Whatever you decide, let me know how it turns out.
