I was referred to Dr Karam by my esthetician, who had nothing but positive things to say about his work. What she told me, which did influence my decision- is that Dr Karam only works on the face. Many plastic surgeons work on face and body, and after she said this to me, I realized that it is true.
I am 31 years old, and at about 29, I started getting fillers under my eyes. Fine lines and wrinkles started plaguing my life and the concealer would get trapped in the lines and I looked tired (dark circles, pronounced nasolabial folds, etc). My esthetician said she could only do so much, and she said that a few of her patients had gone to see Dr Karam for a fat transfer and that the results were stunning.
I went to see Dr Karam shortly afterwards. He is a charming man, very easy to talk to and explain what you want. I went in with 40 different problem areas, and Dr Karam almost laughed a little and told me to stop looking in the mirror so much - haha- totally true. He was not trying to up-sell me. He did not give me false information on what to expect. I was impressed by this, his complete honesty. This made me trust him.
I left his office and thought more about doing the fat transfer. Overall, if the fat sticks, even for 5-10 years, I will save money over fillers. Once I started considering having to take time off work, I started thinking about also doing a slight adjustment to my nose, which is something I had been thinking of for years but always scared the results may be worse than what I started with.
I went back in for a second consultation. FYI, I have read reviews on this site saying Dr Karam does not do enough post op visits, etc- I can rebut that whole-heartedly. I have never ever gotten pushback from the office to set a consult or appointment with Dr Karam. I did call a few other offices in the area- they were charging $100 to eve have a consult- ridiculous.
During my second consult, I talked to Dr Karam about my nose- he gave me realistic expectations on what we could do. Something I really liked about his work from looking at pictures was that he seemed to stay on the natural side. I didn't want to go back to work and for everyone to say- "wow, nose job alert".
I am only one week post op- and I can say, I am 100% satisfied- so far- with my results. I am honestly still bruised and swollen- however, makeup covers it and I have been going to the mall and grocery shopping the past few days. Dr Karam's work is beautiful. He is truly an artist. With a fat transfer, as with a nose job, it takes time to see the final result- they say even a year. So I will come back and write another review in a year :)
I also want to add that his staff is truly wonderful- everyone. They are kind and patient and responsive. They even called me to say they were running 15 minutes behind on my appointment. He is running his business like a well oiled machine- and it shows.

I know it’s been a while since your procedures, curious to know how did your fat transfer hold up any issues? I’m considering it myself and see good reviews with Dr. Karam
Congratulations on your results and positive experience. You will have to keep in touch and let us know who you are doing as you continue to heal.
