Lower Eyelid Surgery

TBICKFORD
$3,800
I had septoplasty and lower eyelid surgery. It is now just over 3 weeks. Had to be referred to another surgeon because eyelid now doesn’t touch my eyeball. My face is scarred. Bumps where there shouldn’t be bumps. I’m devastated to say the least. I wish I had not done this !!!!!

Who did the surgery?

Hello Tbickford,
I am so sorry to hear about your complications from your surgeries. Do you think that your septoplasty contributed to your problems with your lower bleph?
Did your surgeon tell you why you have the bumps under your eyes? What do you suppose caused this?

I sure wish you the best in your recovery, and thank you for sharing your journey!

They do not know what caused this. I am having to go every two weeks for them to watch it but it is still not determined cause as to why all the ugliness occurred. :(

I’m so sorry your doctor is incompetent and messy. From all the great lower eyelid blepharoplasty outcomes I’ve seen here, the one thing I’ve noticed is great doctors are conservative with the amount of skin they remove, and many use tape and/or sutures attaches to tape suspended from the eyebrow region to keep the lower lids in optimal healing position against the eyeball. And their suture work is nearly impeccable. Your doctor lacks the surgical skills necessary for this delicate surgery. Please see a board certified occuloplastic surgeon to see if your eyes can be repaired. Don’t let this one near you again.

I am so sorry. Don't give that "surgeon" another dime! See an occuloplastic surgeon as soon as possible. I think you are in Indiana? I am sure Chicago has an Occuloplasic surgeons or Minneapolis. Per haps you can do a payment plan.

It's not supposed to be away from the eye like that...so sorry you experienced incompetency.

You have malar bags/festoons and not fat herniated eye bags. It looks like your surgeon just did a regular transconjuctival blepharoplasty, which isn't going to correct the festoons/malar bags, and likely just make them more obvious.

For festoons/malar bags you should see someone really experienced. I'd look into Dr. Gupta or Dr. Asaadi in NYC, they have a great deal of experience with these.

There's also Dr. Scheiner who treats festoons from skin laxity and sun damage with CO2 resurfacing, but there's a lot of doctors performing that procedure.
