After living with a large bust all my life it is time to pursue my dreams of a reduction. I have looked at hundreds of photos on here and read so many reviews. I am scared but very hopeful that it will lead to a new me, where I can buy prettier clothes and small bras. I have today booked my consultation for 26th May. 3 days before my 59th Birthday.

Exciting! What cup size are you starting from?

Well I was told that i am now a 38F (UK). I would like to lose about 10lb or so and be a 36/38 C. I find these days no matter if I lose weight my bust stays the same. :(

Since writing my reply I have read so many more accounts and decided on a B if feasible. :)

That was my situation, no matter how much I worked out, my bust area remained unchanged.

Congrats! Go for it! I'm 59 & had my reduction 9 weeks ago! If I'd known that the government health insurance here in Ontario, Canada paid for it, I'd have done it far sooner. I was at least a 34DD, but was stuffing myslef into a D for a couple of years when My boobs grew AGAIN. (They grew from a C to a D in my mid-50's.) Doesn't sound that big, but I'm a slim person, and they' e always been droopy & heavy. I think I'll end up a B after I finish healing. When I first took off the dressing 3 days after surgery they looked so small & perfect, I was in awe! I had no swelling or pain for the first week -- strange, I know. They are slowly going down again, and are about a C by now, though slightly misshapen. They are just perfect otherwise -- I can go braless if I want to for the first time since I was 15! Heaven! I'm certainly looking forward to not having them all strapped up during the hot summer. Woohoo!

It went really well! I have just updated it. Last Monday I was in a state about it all, VERY wound up. Luckily by yesterday it had all changed to excitement. :)

Consultation sorted!

Yesterday I went for my consultation. It went really well and I felt completely at ease with Mr Karoo and his staff. When it came to discussing cup size he suggested a full C cup. I said no, because I am done with being busty. I showed him photos of me from 30 years ago with a c cup and he then "marked" me up to see if we could agree. He was very good, said yes he can get me to a B cup and could understand my reasons why. At one point I asked him if he felt C was best because it would keep my curves? He said yes, but I no longer want these curves and am REALLY scared that I will end up busty again. This is a massive deal medically and financially to me so I would prefer to get it right the first time! I have another appointment in a few weeks and am pencilled in for September the 10th, but he is going to try and do the op in the last 2 weeks of August, which would better suit my business timetable. I did it! Step one anyway!

A C might be more traditionally proportionate BUT I think a B would look good too. What size are you now?
User Avatar

38E. I always was a C, and always felt my bust was too big. At my age I just want comfort and pretty clothes. :)

I totally get it!

So happy for you! You sound exactly like me. I asked to be a B after sporting a drooping DDD! I know someone that was in the E's and after surgery, was a C. Now years later, they are a DD! Scary! I want to be able to wear cute tops and feel more confident in clothing! I don't want to go through this process and end up huge again. This is a big deal! You'll do great! The most uncomfortable part is sleeping on my back.

The thought of them growing again...
May 28, 2018
Why do you think they grew?
May 28, 2018
Did they gain weight or get pregnant maybe?
User Avatar
May 28, 2018
Yes, she did gain weight, about 10 lbs over time. I was already cycling and walking and plan on keeping a regular workout regimen going. Because they will grow.

Getting big again, or actually even bigger, is exactly what happened to me! I’m going to do my second BR. It has been 28 years since the first one. I will be posting my review/s about my journey soon.

Well 28 years is a very understandable gap. Hope you are ok.
May 28, 2018
Totally get it , I’m having my reduction in 3 weeks time , seeing my surgeon on the 5 th June, and I def want to be a b cup, it’s a lot of money , costing me $10600. So I want it right . So fed up with big boobs .

I am now a little concerned that they need to ensure enough tissue is left for blood flow, SO I will be going over it all again with my PS on my next meeting. Yes LOTS of money! Never spent that much on myself EVER. £5950 with the consultation. I also feel that there's this idea of what a woman should look like. I can wear a padded bra if I want to look curvier! Well we'll see. I wish you EVERY success and will follow your story. :)
May 28, 2018
When is your date ? Yes me too iv never spent that much on myself , I’m taking mine out of my super. Time for me I think
August 2, 2018
Yes! I think my previous surgeon was a “breast man” and left them too big. I wanted to be a B, but ended up a fricken D. Was very upset.
User Avatar
September 14, 2018
That makes me very angry. How dare he.
