To Whom it may concern:

This letter is in reference to Dr. Keshav Magge who performed my reconstruction surgery with tram flap.

I had breast cancer originally in 2008 followed by a diagnosis of CML (Chromic Myeloid Leukemia) in 2010. Five years later, I found myself being told that I had breast cancer again! Needless to say, I was shocked. I saw Dr. Magge who explained in detail my choices and then he gave me the time to think it over.

With my CML and other health issues, I had some complications that Dr. Magge kept on top of and worked side by side with my CML doctor.

I chose Dr. Magge because I felt he had mastered the most up to date practices and seemed to be a perfectionist. (which he is) He is a very thorough doctor and I truly felt cared for by him. Words can’t express how happy I am now. It’s been a year since the big surgery. I finally feel “normal” and that is due to Dr. Magge taking such good care of me. He is an excellent surgeon. I feel that Dr. Magge took this journey with me and my husband. He has always been there for me. He is a true professional.

Sincerely,
Christine Ricker

Oh wow, thank you for sharing your experience! Did you require another mastectomy? What reconstruction options were open to you?

The first time, I had a lumpectomy, the second time I had a double mastectomy with tram flap on the left side and an expander on the right. I had the tram flap because of the large amount of radiation I had on the left side with my first cancer. I could have had skin from my back instead, but the tram flap was more appealing because of the tummy tuck.
