Hello, sorry for my poor English. I decided to start my journey on jaw surgery last May 2014. I worked hard to save for my braces and to pay all the x-rays needed. I've done a little bit of research before about jaw surgery so I wasn't surprised when my Ortho told me that my gummy smile is due to severe maxillary excess.It is a skeletal problem, therefore the only way to correct it is to undergo jaw surgery. I am not happy with my gummy smile and slight overbite. I am good at hiding my gums when I smile at pictures, but when I laugh you can totally see it. I am still waiting for a surgery date somewhere in March.I will update once my surgeon will give me an actual date. I felt the urge to write my story since I haven't seen a lot of gummy smile cases for jaw surgery. I hope I can help those people who are looking for cases like mine. And to those who are afraid to start the journey, I hope my experience will help you decide in the future.?
