Found It Very Painful - Canada

I went in well researched, thought about it for over a year, etc. I had a major millia breakout all over my cheeks and temples (worst case my doctors have ever seen)and it didn't go away. I was unable to wear foundation and powders on my face as it caked on and looked uneven and so ugly. Also had acne scarring on my chin which I wanted corrected.
I had Fraxel Re:store done on my entire face 4 days ago. I had the numbing cream on my face and also took pain meds prior to it and I have to say 2 c-sections were easier to handle than the pain I faced during my treatment. At one point I pushed the techs hand so it would get off my face. I have a high pain tolerance and this was unbearable. Painful enough that I will not go back for another treatment regardless of the results. The heat was so intense after the treatment I wanted to soak my head in a bucket of ice but couldn't.
Day two I woke up and almost passed out when I saw my SWOLLEN face. I could barely see. It has lasted 2 days.
Day 3, woke up to a very ugly nose. Looks like broken blood vessels on it. Not bleeding but looks like it is. I can see the pin prick marks but its not brown like the rest of my face, these are red/bloody. I am waiting two days to see what happens.
Day 4, woke up to left swollen eye, right swollen jaw line and the nose is worse today, putting Polysporin on it so it stays moist. Will see what it looks like tomorrow. If no improvement, will go back to doctor to make sure it's ok. In the shower this morning, I used Cetaphil to wash my face and felt some skin coming off.
The fresh skin does look great so far. Texture is smooth...I am looking forward to the results...just worried about the nose. Just wanted to share the first few days with you. My experience is definitely not as the brochures say. I couldn't wear makeup to cover it up. I could't go to into public the next day. (day 4 now and guessing still home for a few more days) AND the pain for me was unbearable.
Day 5 - had a shower and came out and just smiled....
Now saying it was all worth it...I still will not go for the future Fraxel treatments. Too painful. I will post my pics after a week is complete.

I am so sorry to hear what a rough time you have had with the Fraxel. As you may have seen many people report it is quite painful.
You mentioned you aren't comfortable going out - I can only imagine how that is affecting everything you need to get done.
I hope you feel better soon. Thanks for posting such a well documented account of what you have experienced & please keep us updated on how it continues to go!
Thanks for posting the day 5 update - so glad to hear you are liking the results you are seeing!! :)
Day 6 - all the treated skin has come off. Looks...
Day 7 - was able to coverup nose "bruise" with my sunscreen powder...I'm very impressed with the results as of today. A friend asked me today if I am going to my next appointment...I still say no. I am happy with my face today. Should something change I will reevalute then. Looking forward to tomorrow...can actually use a mild exfoliant to get the small little spots of treated skin off.

Love reading your updates - so glad you are continuing to see improvements & feel better each day...however, certainly don't blame you for not wanting to go through this again. A week of down time is quite a bit!
