I'm done! It finally happened! After 20 years of living with this horrendous roll it's finally off my body. Healing has definitely been the roller coaster of emotions I didn't expect. I truly thought I would bounce back faster since I was so fit. Just finished the 1 week hurdle. Hope it gets easier from here on in!

You look fantastic!! I too am just over 1 week post op. Other than the soreness and restrictions in movement and activity I feel great. Which makes it harder for me to take it easy since I am very much a go go go type of person. Hang in there. It takes at least 2 weeks before you will want to /or should really do much. Just keep thinking about how fabulous you look!! :)

Thank you so much!! How are you feeling? I think taking it easier gets you to the end result faster right? How are you managing with your binder? I swelled to 31" and am squished into a 28" binder. I think that's the only thing I would complain about :)

you look great! what did you take for pain and was it awful pain? do you have help to get you up?any pain pump? did doc put any marcaine into abdomen before closing?

Thank you so much! You guys are so lovely!! I am taking Tylenol with codeine @ night. Now that my drains are out I alternate between Tylenol and Advil. In all honesty - it's not bad at all! I've had period cramps that hurt worse then a TT. I didn't have my abdominals stitched because I have strong abs. My tummy tuck is virtually painless at this point. I feel the most discomfort in my back liposuction areas and my lower back, from sleeping on my incisions and trying to stabilize myself all day. For me, the most painful/weird part was getting the drains removed. The pain of the TT is honestly not bad at all. It's the "waiting to stand up straight" part that has me tapping my foot. So happy with my decision. Haven't heart of Maracaine. What is it?

oh it sounds like you are doing sooo great because you did not have muscle plication. that is where the pain is. marcaine is an anesthetic we use to numb an area, e.g. if one needs their finger sewn up after accident, we instill marcaine for numbing. it lasts longer than lidocaine used for same thing. sometimes PS will use it over abdomen to get the patient going painfree right after surgery.mine uses it. i have to decide if i need pain pump. it costs so much. i need muscle plication because i have a hernia to fix, so once that muscle is sewn, if they do not sew all of it, there could be uneveness in the result.

Oh goodness. You don't need a pain pump. Well, I had lipo of the back flanks ... and 2 small spots on my thighs. The girls all say that lipo hurts more than muscle plication. If so, you can totally do it. Lipo hurt WAY more than my TT. If you're going to go through this process, I say get the full meal deal. All the bells and whistles. You're going to be in pain - but in all honesty, if you listen to the girls on this forum - most of us are complaining about the swelling and not being able to go out and do fun things - not about the pain. The pain of the procedure was honestly not bad at all. I would rather have the TT again than some of the period cramps I get. Serious - you're a woman, a tough cookie - if I can do it, so can you. Xo

Pains and drains and Abs!!!

DiamondDreams
The drains finally came out. Yay! By far, the most painful part of the whole ordeal. I don't want to scare any one but I didn't expect that feeling. It was so painful for me that I almost passed out and laid there shaking for about 2 mins afterwards. Very strange. I am back next week to get my stitches removed. I'm so excited. I can already see my hard-earned abs from the side!!!! I didn't have my abdominals stitched so I was afraid these would be hidden under swelling for a while. Feel about 75% at day 8. I am actually surprised how long it's taking me to stand up straight. I work out a lot and I foolishly thought I would bounce back faster than most people - boy was I wrong. You can't just decide when you're going to get better (after my breast lift/implants I was ready to go back to work After 3 days. Walk in the park). It definitely is a slow loving process where you must make decisions to help your body heal.

My biggest tip - drink 3 L of water a day. Yes that's a lot, but the benefits for bloating, anti-constipation, energy, cleaning out your kidneys from all of the meds, helping your liver process all the meds - drinking that water your biggest responsibility to ensure the health of your organs - which will ensure the speedy recovery of your TT.

I feel like I have retained 98% of sensation in my stomach. It is in the flank lypo areas that I am feeling numbness, crazy bruising (still :)) and muuuucho swelling.

At 8 days I am surprisingly not standing up straight yet. My Dr. Doesn't want me to until next week.

Can't wait to see what the next week brings!! (Hopefully Return to work at the end of this week) Already love my tummy and it's only going to get better!!

I am feeling good .. just need to remember I had major surgery and I need to rest and take it easy. My binder is better.. I actually got a smaller one at the PS office last week. It has taken getting used to to keep it as snug as it needs to be. It helps if I have someone else helping me get it tight . Of course when I take it off it feels like the wind has been taken out of me for a minute. Hang in there ... Taking it easy and slow will give us better results....

What the heck is happening to my butt??

DiamondDreams
My thighs are SO swollen. My butt is wrinkled and saggy looking. Not even kidding when I say I wish I could just take my old butt back.

I had upper butt/lower back lypo done to remove the "shelf" I had there. In the last moment before going into surgery, the surgeon circled 2 spots on my thighs and lypo'd those as well.

I have major swelling in my thighs and in the place where my TT binder cuts me off, my skin is denting in. I emailed my docs office asking them for a binder to compress my thighs where I had the lipo done and to promote a smooth transition between my stomach and my thighs, but they haven't responded to me. Frustrated.

I was really in love with my butt before I went in for surgery. Now I feel like my waist is disproportionately small to my huge thighs.

Can't wait for this swelling to go down. Sigh.
