So I have been reading reviews and looking at results with Smart Lipo since January 2012. I have 3 more days before my procedure, so I feel it is time for my post. I looked into Smart Lipo because I hold all of my weight in my abdomen and I have to starve myself to lose 30 pounds to see any significant difference in my body when losing weight. At 5'8" my lowest weight has been 160 pounds back in 2010. That was maintaned by walking 15-20 miles a week and eating no more than 20 grams of fat daily- should have known it was unobtainable forever. I was a lot happier with myself at that time, but still had the dreaded tummy and muffin top. I have great legs so my problem is that I will find the perfect pair of hugging jeans, to only look up and see a big mushroom. Or, it can be vice versa, and I can find something to fit my waist, but then I will have baggy butt. I work in the medical field and I switched departments in mid 2011, going from an hour of lunch walking and being able to eat my sandwich at my desk, to a 30 minute lunch where I only have that measly 30 minutes to decide if I walk or eat. I must mention that we get lunch catered to us a few times a week via drug reps which doesnt help either. So, you can see where this is going...I couldn't keep up no matter how much I try and I am currently weighting in at 200 pounds even. I am extremely self concious at this weight and I hate having to go out anywhere. Don't get me wrong, coming from a person who has had ups and downs with her weight since I can remember (my sister was the skinny one), I have weighed in as heavy as 265 pounds. I have kept off 65 pounds for 6 years. When I think about that, I feel that things could always be worse but, I am going to be 30 years old this year and its time to be happy with myself inside and outside!!!! I am having Upper Abs, Lower Abs, Waist, Lovehandles, and Hips done on May 31st 2012. My initial consultation was back on March 10th. I felt the sales lady was a little pushy or blunt, but hey guess what, she is doing her job, and if you are up on your game it doesn't matter what they really say to you because at the end of the day its your decision. I could care less if I ever see her again I just care about how certified my doctor is! So I planned for my procedure that day on the basis I knew I could get a few days off, and I had a little extra income to pay my balance off. I financed $5500 and the $2000 balance had to be paid by 2 weeks prior to the procedure. My payments are only $130 a month. I met with my doctor a few weeks ago and I adore him. He has a great bedside manner, and had the procedure done himself 7 months prior- love it! He told me everything I should expect, and we talked about keeping my sugars up on the day of the Op because I dont want to be nauseas. I took my pre-op pics and talked with the nurse. The nurse tried to get me to buy Arnica through them and they wanted $26.98 at the clinic. You can buy the same Arnica 12c from Amazon 80 sublingual pellets for $8.00. I also bought 500mg Bromelain. I have been taking both since this past Saturday and drinking 1-2 liters of water a day. I went to the Goodweill and purchased cheap cheap clothes that I could stain and not worry about, and I will be using some ugly old scrubs as well. I have big huge plastic garbage bags (the good thick ones) to lay down in our truck and on my bed for the drainage. I have medical tape, bandages, incontinence pads (without the lines), and Bacitracin ointment ready to go. I bought Dial anti bacterial soap to wash with the night before and morning of the op. I will have ready from the store for my recovery, Gatorade, fresh lemons, yogurt, and light protein drinks. My friend who is an MA will be at my side when I get home to help me clean up. I have my antibiotics and pain meds filled from the pharmacy as well. I feel like I have been waiting for this forever. I will post after.

So I had my procedure yesterday, and for the most part it went well. I will warn you...it was painful! And this is coming from a person with very high pain tolerance, piercings, and a lot of tattoo work. I take anti-anxiety meds which my Dr. told me has some kind of reversing effect on the lidocaine numbing your body, and they can only put in so much at one time. Also, I am kind of opiate resistant just like my father, so at the beginning of my procedure it was hell. The numbing part sucked, for the most part that didnt hurt that bad until he got up in my upper abdomen and by my ribs...that hurt pretty bad. When he started with the laser there were certain areas that hurt really bad and we had to keep re-injecting lidocaine in certain areas. After multiple lidocaine injections, and more demerol, we were able to move forward. There were areas that hurt more than others, which felt like a burning or stinging feeling. My tummy was already getting sore when my Dr. started on my flanks and hips I think because I was a little resistant to the pain meds and numbing solution. However, I made it through, my Dr. said I did a great job. The nurse wrapped me in bandaging, my stage 1 compression garment, and an abdominal binder. The pain meds and drinking a lot of fluids have helped very much. It hurts to move around, just like a soreness feeling. I sleep every 3-4 hours and then I wake up because my back starts to hurt from laying on it. Even though I can't see myself through the wrap and garments, I can see that I have no more love handles and a great shape. My dr. told me during the procedure I was going to have dramatic results. I didn't get nauseas because I had a light protein drink, water, and a light yogurt right before I went in to get my pre-meds with the nurse. By the way, the garment is not uncomfortable at all, and it buttons at the crotch so its easier to go to the bathroom. I have had minimal drainage leakage, but I won't be taking off my bandages until later this morning. The nurse and Dr. said it would be easier that way. I will post pics as soon as I can.
