33 yr old, mom of one.. Having 525cc Saline Implants Removed 7/9/15 - California
ORIGINAL POST
I've had my 525cc saline breast implants for 8...
WORTH IT$1,000
I've had my 525cc saline breast implants for 8 years now, I feel like I'm a different person now than I was when I got them and I get embarrassed at times with my huge boobs. My back has been really hurting for the past few years so bad I've been taking daily pain meds.. I want off the pain meds and know these boobs are really contributing to my pain. At this point I don't really care what they look like after deflated I just want the weights on my chest gone. I can't afford to pay for removal and my insurance won't cover so for now I'm going to deflate. I will post pics of after for everyone to see.. This site has really helped me with my decision and I'm so glad I found it.. Hope I can help someone in a similar position. Ps my husband has not been the most supportive and I feel like having these boobs deflated might be the nail in the coffin for our marriage.. A big reason I got them was feeling insecure about how my breast looked in front of him after having my child.

Saline implants causing Autoimmune disease???
I have been doing a lot of research lately on Rheumatoid Arthritis, osteoarthritis and other autoimmune diseases.. I've had my saline implants for 8 years and for the past 5 or so have been having so much trouble with back pain.. It's gotten so bad I'm seeing a pain management Dr.. I always thought it was just the weight of my implants because saline is safe... Right???? Now reading lots of girls developing autoimmune issues with saline implants due to the shells.. I feel like I have so many of the symptoms.. Joint and muscle pain, it takes my body forever to heal cuts and such and I get a lot of infections, bladder and bowel problems and even new food allergies! I'm so freaked out right now I can not sleep.. I feel like I just connected the dots.. I feel so horrible that I may have done all this to myself.. The past few years have been so bad.. Depressed, major anxiety, major fatigue.. I'm suppose to go have my imants deflated on May 29th to relieve the weight since that's what I thought the problem was until I can afford removal but now I'm freaked out and want these out asap!!! Anyone else have these issues or any advice.. I'm so upset, I hate feeling like this:( I never ever should have gotten these damn things!

So sorry you're going thru this. I too, thought my saline implants were "safe" never ever being told the shells were still silicone! I have been thru my share of illnesses that started only after I got mine in & it's been hell. I'm so thankful now that they're out & wish I'd done it years ago after I determined I hated them. How much is the cost of deflation? What are the quotes you are getting to remove? How many PS's have you seen for quotes? These are things you should think of. I had mine done under local since I had no problems with capsules & left them in and can tell you it was easy peasy! I have moderate to severe anxiety & never EVER thought I'd have this done awake. So for me to say this, I really mean it...it was nothing & you can do it too! The Valium I was given took the edge off for me to stay calm. So with that said - if you can do a local or local w/ oral sedation, this is going to keep your cost down immensely verse general anesthesia. I've found the price for explant with local can vary greatly between surgeons & your location. I felt my cost was a little high but I really liked the PS & he had experience with explant. So go to consults. See what they charge. You may get lucky and find someone who will do it for $1,500 or so. And there is always Care Credit as well, which I used and get to pay off my explant interest-free over a years time which worked out a heck of a lot better than plopping a lump sum down at once. If your original PS is still around, go back to him/her and see what they charge. If you go with the original surgeon your price might also be less than going with a new one. Good luck to you!

Thank you so much for your reply:) It's only going to cost $50 for the consult to deflate and that'll go toward the surgery.. It is the surgeon who put them in originally and I was told he'll probably give me a discount for that.. I'll let you know how it goes! I'm curious how your feeling now that they're out? And how soon after did you start feeling better if so?? Thanks again for the support..

Well, I had saline and developed CC years after my implants. CC is by definition the immune system attacking the implants. If your immune system can react this way to the implants and result in CC, then how can any Dr claim implants don't cause other immune system / auto-immune problems? There is rampant dishonesty and cognitive dissonance in the plastic surgery community. Our immune systems evolved to REACT to foreign objects in our bodies (whether virus, parasite, bacteria, or prosthetic medical devises). How any individual woman's body will react is a gamble of health, and there is no $ benefit for the implant companies or plastic surgeons to fully investigate and scientifically document the health effects. They admit CC is an immune response, but deny that auto-immune diseases can be triggered by implants. It's dishonest double-talk. Do what is right for YOU. Bless you, and may you find happiness in your mental and physical healing. BTW - I ex planted under local. It was OK, and I would gladly do it again without general anesthesia, it wasn't too bad or painful.

I had all the same health issues and just explanted last week. There is absolutely a connection between our health and implants even though many doctors wont admit it. There's a good book out about it called "The Naked Truth About Breast Implants". Make sure you find a surgeon qualified to explant! A lot of plastic surgeons offer payment plans. Your health is worth the extra cost!! Ive also struggled with regret over ever having gotten implants. Its a difficult journey you are on, but absolutely worth it. Best wishes!! Hugs.

Thank you so much, and congrats on your explant! You look great! All the best to you as well:)

Explant scheduled for July 9th!!!
So I went in for my consult and to possibly get my saline implants deflated on May 29th.. After talking with my Dr and hearing he was going to hook me up with a very good price to explant under local at his surgery center I've decided to just move forward with that.. The only real reason I was going to just deflate was due to the cost of surgery but after finding out I can afford to do it I'm going for it.. I'm getting super nervous though! Hoping my results arn't too bad! After seeing my before pics at the apt I was a little depressed.. wondering why I ever did this to myself in the first place? I had nice little boobs, boobs I would love to have right now instead of these huge, fat, weights on my chest! If anyone has had their implants removed under local I'd love to hear from you , I'm getting pretty nervous knowing I'll be awake throughout the whole procedure..

Hi- just read your story and am so touched- I wish I could reach out and give you a hug. It is so hard to not have support, so please know that the women who are going through this with you really feel for you. Maybe your husband would benefit from seeing your "original" pictures? Men aren't always able to "see"what outcomes will be (neither are we!) and I don't know- maybe if he realizes you had nice breasts- he'll be reassured. You really did have nice breasts! Isn't it amazing how the pressure to have a buxom chest influenced all of us? Hang in there, and I'm so happy you found an explant doctor- is this something he has experience in? Remember to ask questions...good luck and we'll be following and trying to support you

I'd love to know how it goes and how you feel etc.. Again thank you so much for your response and support! Good luck!!!

Hi:) Sorry it's taken awhile to get back to you! Life gets crazy and busy sometimes.. I live in the Cental Valley, I had my implants originally placed by Dr. Lars Enervoldsen in Modesto.. He's great and I have no complaints, just don't want these heavy implants in me anymore.. He's giving me a discount since he's the one that placed them and he has since built his own surgery center so it's very reasonable.. I think normally he charges $1,500 but I think that's negotiable.. Him and his staff are very nice and take as much time as you need.. No rush at that office.. I hope that helps you.. I'll update and post more pics when I can.. Good luck to you, I wish you the best and thank you so much for your support!

I am getting my deflated on June 23rd in Houston, Texas. After a month, I will review with my doctor to see if we're going forward with full removal and or smaller implant exchange. I'm very nervous over the deflation, I've seen some pics that are really scary at first, but my doctors office tells me that by the end of the month we should have a good idea of how the breasts are going to look. I am also documenting my journey and will post every step of the way, good luck to you!

Excited for you that you are able to explant! :) Eat lots of fruits and veggies, very low sodium foods, and drink tons of water at least a week before and after surgery :)

Will do!! Seriously thank you so much for your support!!! I will update as much as I can:)

Hi,I am so sorry you have to go thru all this, why we felt the need to do this to our bodies,it comes down to our insecurities I suppose....I can tell you that the next day from having mine out my neck was soft not rock hard and ridged .first time in 20 + years.the neck and shoulder pain gone..have to give yourself some love and time after .as will take awhile for skin to firm back up.but I am sure you will not be sorry in your decision.best wishes for your procedure and good healing to you.when I look at myself now only 2 days out (had explant and fat transfer)and I look at pictures of me with them I think I looked like a [RS bleep] star, but I got so used to seeing myself I did not realise how big they where.i was given them after surgery in a bag and they areHEAVY.no wonder we ache...if your husband can not see past your breasts,he is not worthy of you.harsh I know.my hubby very much a boob man and was freaked before.now he is just happy I'm here in one piece, with my little deflated breasts.had to tell him swelling will go away and they will be smaller.lol.

Hi! I just realized my reply never went through initially.. I was just wanting to tell you, Thank You so much for your support! Your comments about how much better your neck felt so quickly after removal are seriously giving me so much more confidence that I am making the right decision and it's making me get excited that soon I'm going to finally have some relief after all these years of being in pain! Thank you so much and I'm so glad everything worked out so good for you!
