Hypertrophic Scar Revision on Neck - Calgary, AB

Since he did under the skin dissolvable sutures this time I feel like there is a bit less bruising and discomfort. I did something bad and went against his instructions to leave the surgical tape on for the full week. I carefully peeled it off the next morning. I found some bloody scabs that seemed to clot right on the incision line so I cleaned that up. I feel like it impeded the healing to make it as flat as possible. I'll of course continue to use surgical tape to keep it flat and prevent stretching for as long as possible.

So that little lump that formed on one side of my scar revision was removed by Dr Frank 2 years 4 months later. No charge!! I'm guessing it was a bit of a puckering that formed during the healing process. This time he used dissolvable stitches so it lays flat. I'm supposed to keep the surgical tape on for a week. I may replace it with fresh tape should it start getting gross.

Over all I'm happy with the revision except for one area that puckered up. I'll admit I did poke and prod at it thinking it may be some cyst material so it added to more scar tissue. I went back into Dr Frank and he said he would exist that scar tissue at no extra charge!
