Not so Complicated

Apparently it's quite common for the odd stitch to 'rise to the surface'. I've had four do it so far. The one from the picture healed pretty much by the next day after pulling the stitch. A second was a tiny scab on my areola edge that the doctor recognized was a stitch end, and removed it with no trouble. I just found a third, and a fourth is a hard wiry small bump along the incision that I am waiting to break through the skin. I literally pop in to the clinic, he pulls the stitches in about 2 minutes, and I put a little polysporin on it wth a bandaid. No pain. A little itchy. That's it. More annoying at this point than anything that they don't just stay away.

As far as scars, they are looking a little darker pink...normal with healing.

Complication?

I felt a damp spot when checking my crease incision line tonight. I applied a little pressure, and thick white discharge came out of a tiny hole along the incision that was NOT there this morning. It isn't painful, and is only red because I was pushing on it a bit. I'm thinking it's a stitch that has come to the surface and caused a small abscess. I'll be calling my surgeon in the morning. I'm guessing the stitch will have to come out. So much for an uncomplicated procedure...it's gotten me just a little down :(

Day 17

I am so happy with the results so far. Dr Campbell is a genius as far as I'm concerned. I literally JUST went for a spray tan, so the incision scars appear darker than normal. My tapes came off yesterday. Lots of dry peeling skin. Bruising is almost gone. Both nipples are sore, which is a good sign of nerve regeneration. Lumpy bumpy painless cording along both crease line incisions. Doctor says that will "melt away over time". Still some swelling, still sitting a bit high but gradually dropping. I'm back to the gym as of day 13 post op. Started out slow with just the treadmill, did my first leg workout today. I've been told, no upper body weight lifting until 6 weeks. I have full energy. Sleeping pretty well flat on my back, somewhat on my side for past three days which is a BIG deal. Not waking up in the middle sliding down my bed anymore. And it no longer feels like my boobs are in my throat when I lay flat. Nipples aren't perfectly symmetrical...I'm not too worried. I'll give it a good year to scar/heal and then I have come across a tattoo artist in Calgary that does very lifelike nipples if it's still driving me crazy (I'm that crazy person who can't stand a picture to be crooked, let alone my nipples).
