It’s going to be 5 years since my surgery and I figured it’s time for an update.
I’ve decided to remove the implants. I haven’t had any complications and I still think the doctor did a great job, but i don’t think they’re for me anymore. I’m very active and the implants are getting in the way of me doing activities I enjoy doing, like running. I’m not sure if it’s due to the size but my butt hurts after running for a while. I’m also thin and work out often. If i lose some weight, the implants look a little pointy from some angles which makes me uncomfortable in bikinis. If I lay on my back for too long my butt hurts. They look great while standing straight, but I’m very active and they in get in the way now.
I don’t have any issues sitting down as I don’t feel them at all when sitting down. The first 2 years or so they were great but they feel heavier now for some reason. I did try sculptra around the implant to see if that would help with the pointy look. It helped a little.
I’m talking to a couple of doctors and hoping to remove them early next year. I’m not doing a fat transfer at the same time so i am a little worried about how the skin is going to look, but I’ll wait and see what happens.
I’ll keep you all posted.

How are you doing?

Hi! I removed them last Friday. The first 2 days I had some pain, mostly on the left side, but now I'm just a little sore. You were right, the recovery has been much easier than putting them in. My butt looks a little saggy at the moment and I have some dimples. The size is bigger than what it was prior to getting implants but I think it's probably swelling from the surgery. I'm very happy I removed them even with the dimples. I feel free and like me again. I'm going to try to take some pictures this weekend to post them and make a new review. How are you doing?

When did you start to notice they got pointy? And in what way? Do you have any pictures? What did the doctor say when you voiced your concerns?
December 23, 2023
It was after 2 years. It's not that the implant itself got pointy, but I work out a lot and don't have much fat around my hips so the area where the implant began was pronounced making it look weird from some angles. They looked great just standing but they looked somewhat unnatural walking, running, bending over. I consulted a few doctors to get their opinions and most said that big implants just simply look that way on thin people and I could add fat around them to cover them more, but that would make my butt even bigger and i have hard time gaining weight. Another doctor mentioned it could be that the pocket stretched and said we could tighten it in a revision. The doctor who removed them actually told me the pockets had stretched and that happens because there's a lot of movement in that area.

So do you think the implant shifted because of the stretched pocket and that’s what caused it to look different? You didn’t want to consider the pocket revisioning surgery? Sorry you had to go through that :(
December 24, 2023
I'm not really sure if they shifted. I never felt them shift and from what I've read on other reviews you can feel when they shift, but I think the stretched pockets could have affected the way they looked. No, I didn't want to do a revision because that wasn't the only reason I removed them. They felt heavy when working out and I always had to modify floor exercises and yoga poses because of the implants. They hurt when running or if I laid on my back for a while. I didn't have any complications when I put them in but I know this surgery has a high risk of complications and I didn't want to keep them and take the chance of having a complication in the revision.

Yes mine are super uncomfortable too, definitely not meant for someone with an active lifestyle. And they also hurt when I sleep

Thank you. You have beautiful results too!

do you go to the gym often and do squats, lunges, stretching, everything normal? is anything uncomfortable?
June 9, 2021
I work out every day. Everything feels normal except sit ups and leg raises. I can lay and sleep on my back without a problem but sit ups and leg raises feel weird.

It’s been a while since I posted an update. Everything is still the same. No complications. I was looking into getting a fat transfer to fill the top area a bit more but now I‘ve gained a few pounds i think I’m just going to stay like this. The shape has not changed and I still love my butt.
