Butt Implant Removal After 8 Years

WORTH IT
I went to Dr. Sheuer bc he was referred to me. I do not have one bad thing to say. I’ve been wanting to do this for a while now, but it is so uncommon many places won’t do it. Dr. Sheuer was professional, compassionate, genuine, and I could tell he is not in it simply for the money. He was not pushy, he didn’t rush me, and although he hadn’t done this procedure before he made every effort to research, discuss it with his colleagues, and find out everything he needed to know to make me comfortable and answer all of my questions. Not just Dr. Sheuer, but also his staff, added a personal touch of making me feel so comfortable and followed up to ensure every step of recovery was easy. On top of all this, I could not be happier with my results. We anticipated needing a lift, but instead of being pushy, he wanted to see how my body responded to the removal. Now, 3 months later I am 100% happy how my body has snapped back and I do not need a lift at all. I feel like a new person and my level of confidence has improved significantly bc of the care and treatment of Charlotte Plastic Surgery. If, in the future, I ever decided to do anything cosmetic I will not hesitate to travel to get to Dr. Sheuer. I recommend at least doing the research and schedule a consultation with Dr. Sheuer before committing to any other plastic surgeon.

What size were your implants? Did you get fat grafting as well? Post pics if you can! I desperately want this done

Hi! I can’t remember the size, but they were BIG and I have a small frame. I did not get fat grafting or a lift or anything else, I simply got my implants removed and hoped thats all I would need. I do have some sagging at the bottom, but for the most part it looks GREAT! I am super happy with my results and I will not be doing anything to enhance it anymore. I have enough volume to keep me happy and I have regained so much confidence. I’ll get some pictures together and show you my journey. It’s been almost 5 months now and I’m still very, very happy!

Thank you so much for replying! Such an inspiration - I am scared to death to remove mine and needed to hear this

You are most welcome. It’s a huge decision, definitely not one to take lightly. My advice is don’t talk to just one doctor, it’s so uncommon that many of them don’t know what they are doing. Dr. Sheuer was amazing, informed, and did not pressure me at all. Another doctor I saw said she could do it but she was rushing me and even said she could do it in her office.... absolutely not! She didn’t know how to read the medical records from my original doctor and I could tell she did not do her research.

My apologies for not getting post-surgery pics up. I honestly didn’t think I’d receive any comments so I wasn’t prepared to post them. I’ll have them up today.

Omg thank you so much for posting this. I've been desperate trying to find reviews like yours. I'm looking for a good doctor to remove mine ones. Do you feel like your butt has more volume now than before implants? Did the doctor leave the capsule in? Did he stitch the muscle back together or just took them out?

You are most welcome! I do feel like I have more volume than I did prior to my implants, but I have a little bit of saggy skin at the bottom where the implants were. This is because I’m so small and my implants were so big. I’m totally happy with the results and did not get a lift no can live with the sag. He had to remove the capsule because there are health concerns about leaving the capsules in. He did not stitch anything back together except the incision itself. Instead he had me lay on my stomach and not sit down for about 4 weeks so that the muscle and skin would fuse back together naturally. He was concerned about any friction from movement while sitting or laying on my back and how it could impact the fusion of muscle to skin. Again, I couldn’t be happier and my confidence has sky rocketed. I’ll try to post updated pics again. For some reason i keep having trouble posting them.

Thanks for replying . I am small too and my implants size is huge 600ccs. but I can't wait to have them removed.

That’s what size mine are, too.
Thank you so much for showing us your progress! Where were your drains inserted?
Mine were inserted with the implants on the outside of my cheeks and the scars have been improving with laser treatments.

Did your surgeon suggest an additional BBL to fix the skin laxity? I’m not sure that you have enough fat to have one and don’t think you look saggy. I’m excited to see how your muscle will snap back and want to thank you again for posting so much - this is really encouraging me to not be scared to have mine removed and if you have a good experience and healing I will probably use your surgeon.

My implants were inserted and removed at the top of my crack, but the drains were placed on each outer side of my butt, basically below my hips. Dr. Sheuer used the same drain insertion points so I didn’t have more scars. I don’t scar very easily so my scars have healed pretty well on their own, but I did purchase a scar cream for $40 from Dr. Sheuer.
He didn’t recommend a BBL or a lift since I seemed to be healing quite well. He will be totally honest with you if he thinks you will need one. I think it really just depends on what look you want. I’m not too pressed anymore on having a big butt or perfect body, so I simply wanted them removed. Plus I didn’t want to deal with more surgery or healing time. I’ll see if I can post even more recent pics for you.

I’m so happy you’ve been encouraged by my post. I will be happy to continue to answer any questions you have.

My pleasure! I think mine were about that size. At the time I wanted the biggest that I could get

Pre-Implant removal

Here are pics just before I had my implants removed. As you can see my legs are super small and the implants are pretty big. This made me very self-conscious and uncomfortable. That’s why I decided to have them removed.

Post-surgery (implant removal)

After my surgery I wasn’t able to lay down on my back or sit down for 2 weeks. I also had tubes coming from each side. Many times drs put the tubes in at the back, but since my initial doctor put the tubes on the sides, Dr. Sheuer used the same are so I didn’t have more scars.
