29 32G/H Two Kids Much Needed Breast Reduction! Burlington, VT

ORIGINAL POST

I found out my insurance approved my reduction...

Saramoon
$8,500
I found out my insurance approved my reduction last week and I'm officially scheduled for surgery june 12th! this is something I've wanted to do for years, but I wanted to wait until I was done having kids so I could breastfeed and not worry about them getting bigger with pregnancy! I was a 32DD by the time I was 14, and every time I gain a pound it goes straight to my boobs and even when I lose the weight my breasts stay the same size! I'll add some pictures when I get a chance because I haven't found a lot of women on here with a similar size. Part of the reason I'm so desperate for a reduction is that I have a narrow rib cage and as my breasts have grown they're basically under my arms and halfway around my torso, I swear if they get much bigger I'll end up needing underwires that go all the way around to my back! Thank you to everyone who has posted on here before me, it's so awesome to be able to read reviews by real people !

Hi! I'm 55 and had a reduction 5 weeks ago. Before surgery I was a 34H. Now I'm a 34DD. I was hoping for a D, but this is fine....depends on the brand of bra. My breasts will still settle. I wanted to do this for years and finally after a battle with insurance, it was approved. I'm so happy! I'm still heavier than I should be but I can tell you that I looked a lot heavier before surgery. Now I'm giving away clothes that don't fit (one of the'hidden costs' of this procedure :) ) But I'm glad and never had even a minute of regret.

You should read my article as it gives you insight about why you gain weight in your breasts but do not lose it there. This information might help you decide which size you want to go down to...especially if you are younger than 35. They can grow back if they are the glandular type tissue...which is what it sounds like you have. Check out my article and use the information to help you make a good decision. Good luck!

Congrats on the approval. I am 2 weeks post op and very pleased with my new boobs. I was a 34 G and mine also wrapped around. I think that is from years of minimizes and pushing them to the sides. I am now a full b and lifted. I think I skipped over this size in my teenage years. All of the tissue on my sides is gone. Anyway, I suggest bringing pictures of what you would like them to look like. B/C/D means something different to everyone. Good luck

Excited for you! I've been wanting one too and want to wait until I've weaned my second. I'm almost there. Cut night time nursings out. How did you decide what size to go down to and are you also getting a lift?
May 4, 2015
Hi. I'd like to know how did you managed to cut night time nursing. my daughter cries if she doesn't get her boobS. I too want a reduction after nursing God willing.
May 4, 2015
She's baby number 2, so it's a little easier letting her cry than it was for my first. She cries a little for it but then just lays down next to me and passes out. We also stopped swaddling her about a week after we cut out the nighttime feelings. She co sleeps with us too. Good luck mama!!! I'm wanting the reduction asap too, I'm having constant pain now. This is the biggest my boobs have ever been

My doctor is using the short scar technique, which should give good lift. He thinks he can get me down to a full C/small D
May 6, 2015
When I was night weaning if she would cry for more than a few minutes I would give her a sippy cup with a little water in it. I used the Nuk sippy cups with the latex nipples.
May 6, 2015
Is that also known as the lollipop technique?

Yes

I am from Burlington also, my surgery is scheduled for May 12th. Is Dr. Laub with the plastics on Mountain View Drive? My surgeon is Susan MacLennan with the same practice if so?
May 4, 2015
Same practice! I really like them, they got me approved super fast!

I will start weaning her at 18 months God will. and am planning to reduce my boobs once I'm done. I'm hoping Cigna approve, I'm 38ddd/f depends oN the bra. 33yrs old What insurance do you have ?

Surgery a success

Saramoon
I had my surgery today and it went great! We ended up having to wait around for about 3 hours longer than anticipated which sucked because I was starving, but it was worth it! I had the same anesthesiologist that did my epidural when my daughter was born so that was nice. I woke up in a decent amount of pain, but it felt different than I expected, like a burning feeling. My nurse was great and I got home just fine. I'm not in too much pain at all, just sleepy and sore. I can't tell what size I am at all, I'm in my surgical bra and its stuffed full of gauze. I did take a little peek and my nipples look great! I'll post some pictures when I'm allowed to take my surgical bra off and take a shower (48 hours) but so far, so good!

Hi, I am scheduled to have surgery on the 21st (literally days away)... I am beyond nervous... My mom and sister are telling me that's it's a bad idead because I won't be able to enjoy my summer... How is the recovery for you so far? How are you feeling? Are you on bed rest? I just can use some advice... My name is Victoria by the way.
May 13, 2015
I'm 4 days post op and I'm feeling pretty good. Really sore and I get tired easily. I think you will be able to enjoy the summer just fine!
