I found out my insurance approved my reduction last week and I'm officially scheduled for surgery june 12th! this is something I've wanted to do for years, but I wanted to wait until I was done having kids so I could breastfeed and not worry about them getting bigger with pregnancy! I was a 32DD by the time I was 14, and every time I gain a pound it goes straight to my boobs and even when I lose the weight my breasts stay the same size! I'll add some pictures when I get a chance because I haven't found a lot of women on here with a similar size. Part of the reason I'm so desperate for a reduction is that I have a narrow rib cage and as my breasts have grown they're basically under my arms and halfway around my torso, I swear if they get much bigger I'll end up needing underwires that go all the way around to my back! Thank you to everyone who has posted on here before me, it's so awesome to be able to read reviews by real people ! Updated on 3 May 2015: so my reduction has been moved up to this friday, may 8th! I won't get the surgery time for a few more days. I'm excited and nervous! Updated on 8 May 2015: I had my surgery today and it went great! We ended up having to wait around for about 3 hours longer than anticipated which sucked because I was starving, but it was worth it! I had the same anesthesiologist that did my epidural when my daughter was born so that was nice. I woke up in a decent amount of pain, but it felt different than I expected, like a burning feeling. My nurse was great and I got home just fine. I'm not in too much pain at all, just sleepy and sore. I can't tell what size I am at all, I'm in my surgical bra and its stuffed full of gauze. I did take a little peek and my nipples look great! I'll post some pictures when I'm allowed to take my surgical bra off and take a shower (48 hours) but so far, so good! Updated on 8 May 2015: I was sick to my stomach when we got home, so I was glad that I had my little barf trash an with me! I put it in the car just in case and I was carrying it on my way upstairs when I got really hot feeling and then puked! It wasn't too bad and I feel better now. Also I'm really glad I brought a pillow with me in the car to put between my chest and the seatbelt. Updated on 9 May 2015: I had to take a little peek at the girls today. I love the shape and I think they will look fantastic once the swelling has gone down and they have dropped a little. I'm feeling pretty good, very sore especially under my arms and I'm pretty swollen. I'm also not really liking my pain killers. They have me on dilauded and while it is great for pain it makes me a little dizzy and nauseated. Probably going to try to wean off it as soon as possible. Updated on 9 May 2015: Healing pretty well so far! Updated on 10 May 2015: I showered today, more like rinsed off. I was able to change out of my post surgical bra and take off all of the gauze. I'm wearing a zip front compressive sports bra that my doctor approved now. I'll wash the post surgical bra tomorrow and change back into it. I'm not in too much pain, but I'm very very swollen, especially on my sides, under my arms. I have pretty nasty bruising as well. They look pretty good so far, I can't wait for the swelling to go down! Updated on 11 May 2015: I'm a little worried about the size of my breasts. They look very lifted but I'm very swollen and they really don't seem any smaller. I don't see my DR until thursday, but I'm worried that they won't end up nearly as small as I had hoped. I'm really hoping that I'm just very swollen and that I will se more of a difference soon! Updated on 17 May 2015: Things are really healing up nicely. I still have my steer strips and the tape on and all of that is starting to get pretty gross, but my Dr. wants it to stay on until my next appointment, which is in 9 days. My bruising is FINALLY starting to fade, but my boobs are kind of a yellowish color now which is not great. the swelling is starting to go down finally, and my boobs are starting to look more natural and settle in a little bit. I think I'm going to end up a D, which is good!
