Bra size - 5weeks post Op!
So I took the plunge today and put my boobs in a few bra cups. Size C - nope, size D, nope!! Size DD yep! Tbh I'm a little gutted! I'm not ungrateful, of course I'm very thankful to have been given the procedure. More than. Just a little gutted I suppose. I truly wanted a C cup. At worst is have accepted a D cup. But a DD still puts me in the large chest category. I don't feel there's that much swelling now to think there will be much difference in 6mts. What I'm worried about is that with weight gain (and I do fluctuate) that they will go to an E or F cup again. My problems started on a DD cup if I remember correctly. And I just don't loose anything on my chest with diet and excersize!! I don't mean to sound ungrateful, I probably do. Just had hopes I'd be smaller :(
Finally . . !!
Went for a check-up today with the BRCE Nurse. She's really pleased with my recovery and was amazed at how well my hole has closed up in one week. She asked what I'd done as they usually take a while, can get bigger/worse and sometimes result in further surgery! (Which was what I was worrying about). I said I'd done salt water washes on it. I'm taking protein powder and vitamin c&zinc combined. She was really pleased - said it all helps. I've now been okayed to start using scar treatments :)) I'm starting with Aloe Gel as I swear by it. Then I will move into bio oil. I'm hoping my PS will give me some silicone sheets/gel as he burned me and wants to see me end mar. So I'm going to insist. I will keep up scar treatment for a year. . . Sounds a long time but I've no other body scars so this is a big thing for me and I know it takes up to 18mts for the full healing on scars. I've started feeling a little 'bounce' in my noobs now while walking or driving. Very strange to have that sensation again when they've been do stiff. So I've brought new sports bras and they are more comfy. I'm in them during the day but I choose a vest top at night. I think it's helping my holes heal and it's not as restricting to sleep in. The Nurse said whatever I'm doing it's correct - so keep doing it! :)) feel like I'm turning a corner! Thank god x
Rough ride !!
Not been on much recently. Had a scab come off my T-junction with what looked like an infection beneath. After cleaning with an alcohol wipe I drew out a white stitch. Thankfully it wasn't infected but it left me with a hole on my t-junction. Been worried it would get larger or infected. Went to see BRC Nurse and she said was likely a suture abscess. She squeezed and squeezed it but was empty. She bruised me from all the pressure squeezing. Then she decides she will pick off all my remaining scabs to 'check for other sutures'. That wasn't pleasant!! She managed to locate a few more and removed them. Felt like I was going backwards. Having spent x2/3 wks healing then to come away with more holes and bleeding. I was told to wash as normal and just put a gauze between breast and clothes. I've stopped wearing a support bra as I've so many but they are all annoying me in one way or another. Having read about them - it seems they're for our comfort only - so I'm back in vest tops. Feels much nicer and more natural and my holes & Bruisings are fading again without being painful. Thankfully, my big hole has been closing from the inside out. It seems to have (today) formed a hard scab just below my skin line. So I'm please as it's closing and not staying open for weeks (like ive read about). So less likely to become infected now!! Back for a check-up on weds 4th. X
