UPDATE: 1 day post op. Feel pretty good just sore. Went to the grocery and aside from getting in and out of the car felt great. I'm including pics with the compression garment and the fat thatwas removed. Still swollen and leaking has stopped - hubby was great helping with changing the pads from the leaking! So far, so good. Will continue to update. Looking forward to a shower tomorrow!!

Can you tell me step by step how the procedure is done and what meds are given I to am going to have this procedure done this month very nervous

Irene - I did a pre-op a few days before surgery. Met with Dr. Bennett for about 45 minutes and with Sundance (the nurse) for about 20 minutes. Got my prescriptions (antibiotic, pains meds and Xanax) so I could get them filled and bring them with me. Day of surgery, I went in, had photos and measurements, took my meds. Dr. Bennett marked my stomach and flanks, then we got started. She number the incision spots (just a pinprick), then put in the numbing liquid - I could kind of feel it but no pain or intense pressure. Had to wait for that to work and then I was numb. She started the procedure and took out a lot of fat - I posted a picture of how much. I only felt a tweak of pain and the doctor added a little more numbing fluid, then I was fine. It took a little over an hour and we were finished. No sat for a little while and then Sundance came to get my bandages, compression garment and binder on. I was leaking some fluid. My hubby drove me home and I took some pain meds and went to bed. Slept a good part of day - had to change the pads out due to the leaking. It leaked a good amount the first day and then minimally day 2. We used maxi pads to catch it and it wasn't too messy - my husband was a champ with helping with that and wrapping the binder. Day 2 I was up and about - went to Sprouts to get some veggies and just to be moving. Stopped taking the pain meds day 2. Have taken the occasional Aleve, but mostly for soreness. I keep my compression garment and binder on all the time except when I'm in the shower :). Got a second garment so I could wear one and wash one. I'm still pretty swollen but feel great! Feel free to ask any questions - I hope this helps.

Somehow I ended up with two reviews (probably the meds) so I'm consolidating. I'm a 54 y.o. Mom, 175lbs, 5'6". Had my procedure (upper and lower abs and flanks) done on Friday. Adding before pics as well as some I took today. Got to take a shower and wash my garment and binder today. Feel good. Went shopping for a while to move about. Still swollen and a little sore but feel like once that goes down the results will be positive. Will continue to update.

feel really good today. No pain meds necessary - not even OTC. Still swollen and a little sore, but much improved. Continuing with the compression garment and binder 24/7. Did a lot of errands today and didn't get tired - much more mobile and easier to get in and out of the car. Good day!!
Thanks for starting your review, I hope you find lots of support here. Hope you enjoyed your shower today! Keep us posted on your recovery and progress -- good luck!
