4 months or so update
Uploading some before and after pictures. All befores were taking within a month prior to surgery, all afters are taken around the 3 month mark. Will be going back to get masseter botox again since it has been 4 months now. I am extremely happy with my results! Surgery was so extremely easy. I can’t stress enough that if you are considering buccal fat removal, try masseter botox first because that might just be enough for you.
Basically a month out from surgery
Doing extremely well! Have no regrets at all! No visible swelling anymore. I can start seeing subtle changes but nothing that would come across on pictures so I won’t update that yet. My stitches are out now as well. I can feel small scars on the inside of my cheeks but nothing major or bothersome. When I put my face in my hands I can feel a hollowness that I did not feel before. It feels like I was carrying around nuts in my cheeks like a squirrel my whole life and i’m just now experiencing what it feels like to feel “normal”. I don’t feel bottom heavy anymore. My face just literally feels more comfortable even if the results aren’t very visual yet. My BIGGEST piece of advice if you’re thinking about getting this surgery, go to a doctor or injector and inquire about MASSETER BOTOX. There is a chance that what you think is buccal fat is just enlarged muscles. Especially if you clench your jaw or grind your teeth at night. I got masseter botox 2 months before my surgery to make sure that wasn’t my real problem and OMG. It was probably 50% of the heaviness in my face. It requires no surgery, just botox injections. I paid around $500 and my results LOOKED SURGICAL. Thats how much of a change it made to my face. It can’t hurt to look into. Especially if it would save you the trouble of getting surgery. I still went along with my surgery because it didn’t resolve the entire issue but it really did make me look like I lost 20 pounds. I will update again as soon as I think my face has changed enough to see a difference on camera. Thank you for reading! I know it is nerve racking even for a simple surgery like this because you always think you’ll be the case that goes bad for some reason. If you have any questions I am glad to answer
A week & a half
Still doing well! Had a bit of drainage on the side that had increased swelling so I’m taking antibiotics for a few more days. I do feel the “hard lump” feeling on one side but thats normal. The swelling is pretty much even now and also barely visually noticeable. I still feel tight when I open my mouth & cant open it very far. I can chew pretty much anything now. Stitches are still in there. My bruise finally went away yesterday so that was a pretty long time. I would include a photo but I just look exactly the same as I did pre-surgery. Thanks for reading! Will update again.
