How it works
- Our highly-trained Review Moderation team evaluates all reviews before they're published to ensure they're written by people like you and not a member of a doctor's office.
- This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.
- Doctors can't pay to have reviews removed or hidden.
- Reviews are only removed at the reviewer's request or if they violate our Terms of Service.

Still having concerns
As you can see my swelling has almost gone in my cheeks but I’m still left with these dimples on my right cheek where the site of the infection was.
My surgeon is telling me to wait until the 8 week post surgery mark before anything can be done...
I’m also now concerned about my neck, especially the left side as this is still very rough looking, tight and rippled.
I’m 5 weeks post op so hoping this will also sort itself out in the next few weeks?!

Day 19 post op
Almost at the 3 week stage. The majority of my swelling seems to be going on, still wear my wrap at night as still sometimes wake up swollen in the morning.
My cheek is still lumpy but I thiiiiink it might be getting better. It’s still very tender on my cheek area and under my neck but I think that is normal.

Feeling less anxious
So I’m just over 2 weeks post op.
Still quite swollen along my lower jaw and around my neck. I’ve stopped wearing the head wrap through the day (stopped after 7 days) and was just wearing it at night time.
My boyfriend tells me I snore when I wear it so he doesn’t get a very good nights sleep at the moment!
My swollen and infected cheek seems to have gone now, still have 2 days of antibiotics. I knew there was something wrong, especially when I could feel liquid coming out the incision on the inside of my cheek, so glad I went to my GP and got something to help it. Trust your instincts!
It’s difficult when you can’t go back to your surgeon and I was sure that something wasn’t right!!
I was very deflated about how I was looking a few days ago. The swelling and the dimpling/puckering on my cheek and neck was really getting me down. But I had to keep telling myself that I am only 2 weeks post op and I still have a lot of recovery time.
I’m really hoping these lumps on my right cheek will go and my chin and neck will soften.
It feels very stiff and tight at the moment and still have trouble opening my mouth very wide. I still have the stitches in my cheeks from the Buccal fat removal, but my surgeon said they should dissolve on their own?
I’m massaging throughout the day but it is sore and tender to touch but still work my way through the massage. It seems to help ease the stiffness for a short period afterwards.
Just got to stay patient and hope it will all sort itself out... if not my surgeon said she will pay for my flights to go back and see her to try and sort it. Probably the nicest of surgeons that I could have asked for!
She’s been checking in on me everyday and seeing how I’m doing.
