Buccal Fat Removal & Chin Lipo

So I am 8 days post op and not sure if the surgery has been worth it.
I’m still really swollen and have a large hard lump on my right cheek which I’m concerned about.
Hopefully it is nothing to be worried about...? It feels like my cheek has been filled with something and is just really hard.
I am still swollen under my chin also and there is a bit of puckering of the skin.
I have started MLD massages in the hope that it will help.
I’ve attached some pictures to show you my recovery so far.
Has anyone had similar with the hard lumps after the buccal fat removal? Is this normal? Will it go away?
I had my surgery in Turkey and I live in the UK so it isn’t possible for me to now go back to my surgeon. I have sent her pictures and videos to show her my concerns and she says all is ok and the lump will go, but I am still concerned.

Hey how are you getting on your results look great so far! I’m thinking of getting this have been researching for years. Can i ask how much you paid for this in turkey? It’s so expensive here in the UK :(

So the lump seems to have gone down in my cheek but it’s still lumpy but my surgeon assured me that it should go and my body will break it down... so I’m remaining hopeful!
I paid just short of £1800 plus flights and hotel but I only paid about £600 for those together.
My surgeon was great, she saw me every day after the surgery and I had these ultrasound massage things, but not sure if they actually did anything.
I think I am just really impatient as it is not even 2 weeks post op yet and I’ve been told it can take 8 weeks go see results!

Hi! I had Buccal fat pad removal and subtle chin lipo in August- you'll be swollen in your cheeks for some time but trust me it's all worth it. I still have some scar tissue that's healing inside my mouth from the pad removal but it isn't bad. You should ice it every night for a month if you can. Also, you can massage the tissue in your mouth with part of your hand in and part of your hand out...it might be painful but maybe just try doing that each night for a couple weeks for 5 minutes on each side (softly)

Thanks! It’s much better without doing any of that. Seems to be getting better on it’s own with the external massages that I was doing

So the lump seems to have gone down, I think it might have been infected but seems to be ok now.
However I do still have hard lumps in both my cheeks and the skin under my chin and on my neck seems to have hardened too.
But my surgeon assured that it will all soften and it should go.
I also still have difficulty with opening my mouth wide. Once food is in there I can eat fine haha it’s just a struggle getting the food through the small gap!

So I’m just over 2 weeks post op.
Still quite swollen along my lower jaw and around my neck. I’ve stopped wearing the head wrap through the day (stopped after 7 days) and was just wearing it at night time.
My boyfriend tells me I snore when I wear it so he doesn’t get a very good nights sleep at the moment!
My swollen and infected cheek seems to have gone now, still have 2 days of antibiotics. I knew there was something wrong, especially when I could feel liquid coming out the incision on the inside of my cheek, so glad I went to my GP and got something to help it. Trust your instincts!
It’s difficult when you can’t go back to your surgeon and I was sure that something wasn’t right!!
I was very deflated about how I was looking a few days ago. The swelling and the dimpling/puckering on my cheek and neck was really getting me down. But I had to keep telling myself that I am only 2 weeks post op and I still have a lot of recovery time.
I’m really hoping these lumps on my right cheek will go and my chin and neck will soften.
It feels very stiff and tight at the moment and still have trouble opening my mouth very wide. I still have the stitches in my cheeks from the Buccal fat removal, but my surgeon said they should dissolve on their own?
I’m massaging throughout the day but it is sore and tender to touch but still work my way through the massage. It seems to help ease the stiffness for a short period afterwards.
Just got to stay patient and hope it will all sort itself out... if not my surgeon said she will pay for my flights to go back and see her to try and sort it. Probably the nicest of surgeons that I could have asked for!
She’s been checking in on me everyday and seeing how I’m doing.
