Worst Experience of my Life
Title: A Devastating Experience — I Strongly Regret Choosing This Surgeon

I have never written a negative review before, but I feel obligated to share my experience so others don’t go through what I have. I waited a full year before writing this review to give everything time to heal and settle. Unfortunately, my forehead will not grow back, and my lip lift has healed, so I now know the changes are permanent and feel it is important to speak up.
Choosing this surgeon was one of the worst decisions I have ever made. The emotional impact was devastating. I experienced a level of depression I had never experienced before and ultimately needed to take antidepressants for the first time in my life.
The Surgery Experience
The surgery center felt more like a basic clinic than a surgical facility. I was instructed to arrive at 8:45 a.m., but my procedure did not begin until nearly 11:00. Given the cost of the surgeon’s services, I was surprised by the overall quality of the facility and experience. He simply draws on your face immediately before surgery—there is no measuring or precise planning involved.
I was also not required to have an EKG before surgery, which was concerning to me given all surgery centers require this and particularly at my age (60s). No concern over health prior to surgery.
My post-op appointment was scheduled for 1:00 p.m. the following day. After such extensive facial surgery, this was extremely difficult. I couldn’t take pain medication beforehand because I was afraid I would fall asleep and miss the appointment, so I ended up enduring hours of significant pain until I was finally able to get home.
The Results
This is where my greatest regret lies.
I signed up for a brow lift and corner lip lift.
Nothing indicated that my hairline would be moved forward in the center. I now have an unusual patch of hair down the middle of my forehead making me look very masculine.
The type of brow lift Dr. Sepehr performed on me—a coronal brow lift, which was not listed by name in any of my paperwork—is generally intended for patients with significant skin laxity or sagging. As you can see in my before photo, I did not have excessive sagging skin or wrinkles to begin with.
Because my skin was pulled so tightly, I also experienced nerve-related complications on the right side of my face, including a persistent eye twitch that occurs throughout the day.
My main goal was a brow lift without increasing or decreasing the size of my forehead. Instead, approximately half an inch was removed from each side and one inch from the center. Considering my forehead was only 2½ inches to begin with, this was a significant change.
The result has left me with a much smaller, unbalanced forehead that dramatically changed my appearance and made my face look masculine and disproportionate. My eyebrows were also raised far too high, creating a constant look of surprise
I also had a lip lift performed at the same time. My goal was to focus primarily on the corners, but the center was lifted significantly instead.
Several surgeons described the result as “fish lip.” This refers to an unnatural, disproportionate shape where the center of the upper lip is overly full and prominent while the outer thirds taper off sharply, creating an unbalanced appearance.
Seeking Second Opinions
I consulted with several board-certified plastic surgeons in Beverly Hills and on the East Coast. Many immediately expressed concern about the results and the extent of the changes that had been made.
I learned that correcting these issues will require additional surgeries, thousands of dollars in expenses, and months of further recovery.
Emotional, Physical, and Financial Impact
This experience has been devastating. I went into surgery looking better than I came out. Because of the scarring and the amount of tissue removed from my forehead, I wasn’t a candidate for the electrolysis-based approach. I was hoping I could use this method to restore a more feminine hairline but the scar was significant and had turned white, resulting in a loss of pigment. I was told by multiple experts that tissue expansion surgery was my only option, and that I had to wait seven months before this could be performed. This felt like an eternity…..
Month 7
I ultimately had to undergo tissue expansion surgery, which is performed in two stages. During the first stage, the surgeon placed an expander under the skin of my forehead. Over the course of five months, I gradually added fluid through a port to slowly stretch the skin and essentially re-grow the forehead tissue that had been removed.The second stage involved removing the expander and using the additional skin to reposition my hairline and eyebrows.
Final Thoughts
I trusted this surgeon because he focuses on facial procedures, and I deeply regret that decision. I cannot change what happened to me, but I hope that by sharing my experience, I can help someone else avoid the pain, cost, and emotional toll I am facing.
If you are considering these procedures, please do thorough research and seek out true specialists — even if it requires travel or higher costs. And make sure your surgeon understands facial symmetry. This is your face. Choose carefully.
Now off to the east coast to go to a specialist that can reverse the lip lift, which will involve skin grafting and doing the corners the main reason I had my lips done. This nightmare is almost over!
