The Most Meticulous Surgeon in NYC
Dr. Sherwyn is soul family. I made very poor decisions when I was young that resulted in a botched chin/jaw augmentation and botched hairline scar. Because I was completely traumatized, I waited 5 years while vetting surgeons. With the help of a well-known consultant who is known as The Beauty Broker, I was able to find Dr. Sherwyn. He doesn't spend a lot of time on social media, but is known by name by the best of the best in NYC, and is in high demand by referrals. So, he is picky about his cases in that he will not just take on anyone or anything. As I said, he only offers his best. My case was so difficult that I had been turned around by many other world-renowned surgeons, as they did not feel it was repairable. From the moment I got on the phone with Dr. Sherwyn, I knew he was the surgeon I held out nearly half a decade for. (Thank you, Melinda) He treated me like a daughter. Actually cared. Truly. The empathy came from such a genuine place, one that I have never experienced (and trust me, I've been in a lot of offices). His bedside manner is unparalleled. He took every phone call, created vision boards with me, met with me on multiple occasions for hours at a time prior to surgery. Because my case was so difficult, he encouraged me to split the surgery treating the jaw/mid-lower face/and hairline into two parts. Most surgeons would just want to rush through it in one sitting to save their time. I am so glad he talked me into this so I could see how my face would heal. There are so many changes in the face during the healing process that I needed to see to help determine the next steps. He, of course, knew this. And my results were most important to him. I now can see my final result and know what needs to done in completion to achieve our desired result thanks to his advice. And I can not wait to come back for part 2, as part 1 has already restored much of my confidence. I am finally starting to recognize myself. So many surgeons do not take into account the psychological effects of surgery -- he does! He knows subtle, natural, and slow and steady wins the race because you can always make little tweaks later versus trying to completely undo something crazy. He isn't going to rush into extremes. It took me losing nearly all my twenties to realize this. Learning to embrace natural beauty, to become a younger refreshed version of yourself instead of looking like someone else. And this is 100% his style. His staff have become friends. Katz (anesthesiologist) is like a funny (yet professional) brother who will have you laughing on your way into sedation. And Karen will hold your hand through the entire process, from booking, the pre-op, surgery date, post-op -- she's your girl. Your best surgery friend. I can't wait to revisit them for part 2 and complete this chapter of my life and enter the next one confidentially. This would not be possible without everyone on his team. If you're looking for a surgeon who is going to care -- look no further. There is absolutely no one else as meticulous and thoughtful who is going to put more time in.
