Procedure Was Ok Now Waiting for Results! - Brooklyn, NY

I was so determined to have this done since I have been suffering w cellulite for years now. I've never had any surgeries in my life so I was nervous but it was ok.. I went to dr. decorato in staten island. he was really nice and very professional. I felt comfortable immediately. after the consult I waited a week for the procedure. I took Xanax for anxiety on the way there and waited a while before i went in and was almost falling asleep in the waiting room. once I went in i was wide awake and a little nervous again but the nurses were so nice. they let me keep my cell phone with me and even took pictures!! the numbing was the worst part.. I cursed out loud.. the rest was ok with minimal pain in a few areas that the drsaid may not have gotten as numb. it took around two hours. I felt fat and sore afterwards and it was hard for me to walk normally. stairs were worst. once I got home I sat on the couch and tried motto move too much. the garments not really uncomfortable but iwas leaking a lot. I didn't sleep too well last nit either mainly because of the garment. I woke up with more bleeding and my legs feel very swollen and lumpy right now but less big. I was told I could shower today and remove the garment but I toolkit off for a second just to get a peek and put it right back on.. I don't want to take any chances.. I see cellulite still but it's only the day after and I'm full of water still.. so I can't really tell anything yet.. I have post op tomorrow!! I'll keep posting my progress for others but as for the procedure.. it was easy for the most part.. I am tattooed everywhere and it was less than tattoo pain.. :) I'd def recommend dr. decorato!!!! if my cellulite goes away for good ill be soooooooooo happy!!!! so far so good!!!! I am very optimistic!! wush me luck!!

So glad to hear you were able to deal with the uncomfortable parts of the treatment & get it done. Thanks for sharing such a detailed account of what it was like. Do you mind me asking if you hear any weird noises like zaps or suction noises while they are doing it, or is it pretty quite?

Wishing you the best results possible & can't wait to hear more from you!!

April 4, 2012
actually I wasn't even paying attention but I know the machine makes a little noise.. there is a beeping too I think.. but I asked the dr about a zapping I heard and he said it was electricity from when he pulled the thing out of my leg.. lol.. he was explaining everything he did and that kept me really calm as well.. Ty for the good wishes and I will def keep u posted.. I wish there were more like me so I couldve read more!! lol ttys!!

I hear what you mean about wishing you could have read others stories before, but you & the other ladies on here right now are our pioneers!! We are hanging on your every word & detail shared.

So glad your doctor said that what you are seeing right now is normal. I hope things stay as comfortable as possible for you as the swelling increases. At least you know its normal & nothing to worry over, that is always a good thing. :)

I went to Dr. Decorato for a consulation. I did like him however found his price was high he quoted me $6,300. I also went to Dr, Barry Dimernardo who was the Dr. who did the study of cellulaze who also is the teacher of this procedure. He quoted me $5,200 Not sure who to go with. Any suggestions??

reegee- it's been two weeks since your initial post. How is it going? Do you see progress? Are the dimples still there? How is the healing? Was it worth it? I need to make a decision tomorrow if I am scheduling procedure or not! I've never had anything done to my body and I am super fit, exercise all the time, eat well, but have those frickin' dimples I HATE. Tell me your update please.... thanks!
April 19, 2012
hey!! so it has been about two weeks now and it is starting to feel better.. my legs still have water in them and are still numb but the cellulite looks a tiny bit better than it was right after the surgery.. and it is easier for me to touch them without the soreness.. my bruising is almost completely gone as well.. initially the cellulite looked worse than before I think because of all the water in my legs but I will post pictures.. I have taken one everyday since day one!! so far I can't tell what's happening yet but they r def improving since they were swollen and gross after the procedure.. lol I will keep u posted!!

I had the procedure 10 days ago on the backs of my legs/thighs. I still have purple and yellow bruising and lumps/cellulite in that area. I don't think I have much if any swelling though it's hard to tell in the mirror. I am frustrated because I do not see any difference and my Dr. said I would have to wait 3-6 months for the final outcome. I was/am aware of that but read on here that some people saw some improvement after a week or two. I also had thought I would be able to have all the areas that bothered me done at once, mainly the backs & sides of my thighs. My Dr. only does one area at a time though so it's frustrating waiting to see if I should do the other areas as well. And if it does work I feel the sides of my thighs are going to look worse until I get them done. Sigh.
April 27, 2012
Who was your Dr? I went to see approx five Dr. and only one Dr. said he would not do all area at once he wanted to do legs in one session and butt in another session. the other four Dr all said to do at once. Many Dr. are not so familar with procedure as it only got approved a few months ago. I am getting mine done this Tues. legs and butt together. I was told to drink pineapple juice for less bruising. Please let me know what Dr, you went to as I am also from Brooklyn
dont worry they say to see full results in approx six months but remember everyone is different
April 27, 2012
Hey Double P, Sorry for the confusion. I don't live in Brooklyn (anymore) that was the original commenter) I had mine done in KC. The Dr. told me that if I had all areas done at once I wouldn't be able to walk for a few weeks. Plus they charge by area and it would have been too expensive. I still should have insisted on at least the backs and sides of my thighs together and had the butt and front of my sides later as they are not as bad. Good luck with your procedure! Hope you have fantastic results!
April 27, 2012
Thank you Most Dr charge by areas and what I found out is that you can talk to them about $$ as many of the Dr. came down on their original price quote. I post my result and experience I am getting nervious now!! Have a nice weekend

Be patient- I am convinced this works. I personally met a lady who did it and she showed me her before and then dropped her pants to show me her after - and it had only been a month and I couldn't see ONE dimple! I also just saw before and after pictures of a girlfriend of a girlfriend and she had hers done exactly one month ago and she looked amazing. A HUGE difference. So your body heals a bit slower, but be patient with yourself.... you will most likely be ready to go by summer - which in my mind- is the goal, right?!?! Be kind to yourself, I bet you are going to be SO HAPPY!
April 30, 2012
Yes, I'm going to find a way to get the sides done. I really don't feel "completed" without it. I think I may ask about getting the fronts done as well so I only have to go back once (and maybe get a better deal). Can't wait to see how it goes for you!
April 30, 2012
Thanks! I appreciate it. I had hoped to look great for the summer but I still have the sides & front to do before that will happen. I guess it's still bermuda shorts for me this summer:)
May 1, 2012
Double P, did you have it done today? I'm tomorrow! How was it? Details please!!
May 2, 2012
Yes I had it done yesterday. It was done at 8am and I was out of Dr office by 10:30. I have the garment on so I really have not looked yet at my legs for bruising. I am not in too much pain at all Ilittle bit more discomfort today then yesterday. I actuall went to a concert last night as I already had tickets and felt fine. I did sleep the whole day yesterday as I was given two valium and some oxycodone before the procedure. I believe I only needed one valium not two that I was given however not complaining. It hurt more when Dr gave me the needles for the numbing first then the procedure, I was talking to the nurses and Dr during it. Just waking up now so I will keep you posted. I am able to take shower tomorrow. I will look at my legs/butt then to see whats happening. Right now just little sore where I believe the insissions were. But I can walk and function. I keep posting an update. My Dr DiBenardo and his staff were great so far.
May 2, 2012
Glad you made it through Double P, not too bad eh? But man those numbing shots were the worst! My soreness is still hanging around at 3 weeks. Obviously it gets better day by day but I still can't run/jump without a little pain/soreness. It's very hard to tell in the beginning what the outcome is going to be. I didn't have that much swelling so I can still see the lumps and bumps. I think the people that have a lot of swelling are mislead regarding instant changes to the cellulite because the swelling plumps it all up. Maybe I'm wrong though, just trying to read as much as I can about others results as it is so hard waiting for mine! I also still have numbness and very light bruising with these weird indents that I need to ask about. Do you have the oozing? I didn't think about that or the little incision site areas before hand for some reason. I'm wondering how long those stay around. Hope you have the results you want and a speedy recovery. I hope we all do, cellulite sucks:)
April 30, 2012
My bruising on the back of my legs one-day post cellulaze treatment is in a checkerboard pattern. I'm afraid this isn't good Will be going in tomorrow to check it out. What would cause this? I figured there would just be all over bruising like on the front of my thighs.

First time was NOT good at all. I saw no improvement. I had more lumping on my thighs and they wete numb forever. After the six month point, my surgeon repeated the procedure. So far it looks way better than the first time and i am way less uncomfortable. I wouldnt have wasted the money had i known id have to repeat the procedure and wear this stupid garment for what feels like eternity.

I'm so glad to hear you were able to get the treatment redone. I know its not ideal, but at least you are seeing better results. Please keep us posted on what kind of results you see, since it seems you are one of the first to have the procedure done twice.

Hoping the garment isn't bothering you too much today - one day closer to being out of it!!

Ree Gee and LaLa, I am outraged on your behalf. The fact that Ree Gee had results and less discomfort after the repeat, shows that the problem was not the tool but the operator. At least LaLa you now know, thanks to Ree Gee, that this doctor has learned and is able to do a proper job on the repeat. Still, it is awful that you ladies have to go through this twice; and, not to be a negative Nelly here, but I still can't figure out what had happened with your arm lipo LaLa - for Cellulaze at least there is a plausible explanation in that the procedure was brand new when you had it done, but for the arm lipo??! Please keep us posted. Best wishes.

I had mine done in May. My legs show little to no results. My doctor has suggested a redo. Here it is December and I am still wondering if the pain and money will be worth it. Has anyone had positive results on a redo?

My second surgery was a bit more sucessful but he made so many more incisions so I have a whole bunch of scarring and all kinds of dark marks all over my legs...and of course I STILL have cellulite...so yeah...and my legs are still itchy and numb at almost 4 months after my 2nd proceedure :/
March 29, 2013
Sorry LaLa :( The numbness will take a while to go away. I don't know if I mentioned to you but I had the procedure done end of December and my legs also are a bit numb still and I also have the small scars at the incision sites and a bit of staining on my legs. The good news is that I went to a dermatologist and was told that the scars can be taken care of with a laser and the numbness and staining will go away. We just have to be patient (I know easier said than done lol). Hopefully you see enough improvement in your cellulite to make all this worth it for you. Best wishes.
