Your jaw surgery looks like a success.
Wow! Amazing, congratulations, you look great.
You look fantastic and your smile is beautiful
When you say $5,100 do you mean USD or in AU dollars?
Also did insurance pay for you or did you pay out of pocket? Your results look fantastic.
AU dollars. In Australia we have both private health insurance and Medicare, which is a government subsidy. $5,100 was the total cost, after private health rebates and Medicare rebates I had to pay about $1700, not including the anaesthetist's fees or hospital.
Beautiful! Congrats!

Congratulation to you!!!! :) I was surprise that my case is 90% similar to your. I just had the first consultation with my doctor today, and I feel not confidence about what I gonna do. Then I just found this website, and see your images. Can I have your email address that I can ask you some question that I don't want to ask in here? If you don't mine! Thanks and congrat again.
Thanks! Sure my address is c.e.fuller.92[at]gmail.com, feel free to contact me. I also have a blog: www.stitchmysmile.blogspot.com.au :)
Congrats! You look great! Quick question, did the Lefort I change your nose angle? Also, how was your bite and teeth alignment before surgery? And did it help with your mid face? I've heard good things about the Lefort I and it only gets better as time progresses. Happy healing!
Thanks! My nose became a little bit more upturned but (like most people) I had an alar stitch to stop excessive widening of the nostrils. I like the very subtle change in my nose. My bite was ok before surgery and I feel a big part of the improvement was from the rotation of the jaws. In the last picture you can see the difference in my bite and smile. And I do have a slightly fuller midface although I didn't have a huge forward movement :-) Very happy with the results!
Thank you so much for your post! My problem is so similar to yours, that it was like reading my own story. I too had braces when I was younger which corrected my bite, but at around age 14 my upper jaw stopped growing and my lower jaw and chin grew. I didn't know this could happen and for many years, I thought I was losing my mind. I hate having my picture taken and am embarrassed to smile. I'm 52 and think it's time to have this fixed. One doctor suggested having my chin reduced and malar implants to add mid-face fullness. I was wondering if this option was offered by your doctor? If I knew 100% I'd get as wonderful results as you, I'd have the surgery in a heart beat!!! Congratulations on such great results!!!
Hey, there, thanks! I wasn't offered that option. When I was much younger in my first set of braces, my old orthodontist did mention a genioplasty once the braces were off and the imbalance was starting to become apparent. Have you tried posting on here ("Ask A Doctor") to get some professional opinions? And have you been to an orthodontist? I would also recommend joining the group We Need/Got Jaw Surgery if you have Facebook - there are quite a few women your age who have had surgery recently. Let me know if you have any questions - It was SO worth it to me! I also have a blog - www.stitchmysmile.blogspot.com.au - where I have been documenting literally everything. Best wishes! :)
