I have nothing but praise for Dr Julian Hirst, and his team. Julian is kind, enthusiastic, goes out of his way to be helpful, and shows genuine care about others. Furthermore, although he's a first-rate surgeon and doctor, a more humble and approachable gentleman you are unlikely to meet.

Like Julian, staff members, Casey, Sue, and Belinda, are friendly, compassionate, and professional, as are Danielle and the other anaesthesia specialists with whom Julian collaborates.

I had some teeth, including my wisdom teeth, removed early this year. After the surgeries, I had minimal discomfort, no pain, and have healed exceptionally well.

On returning, later in the year, for a consultation about dental implants, I was greeted most warmly, and immediately felt welcome and comfortable. I look forward to the next stage of treatment.

My feedback, which, mind you, has been all good, has been welcomed and kindly acknowledged. Also, Julian gave his contact details, should I have any queries or concerns. His responses have been prompt and thorough. Casey has been amazingly helpful, and generous with her time, too. I've never felt as though I'm a bother, and there have been a few enquiries, given my interest in the medical field and curiosity in general.

I'm most impressed with the care Julian and his team provides. Not to mention you can't do otherwise than like such lovely people. I'm happy to recommend them. For top-quality treatment in oral and maxillofacial surgery, look nowhere else.

Hi :).  Are you still planning on getting dental implants?
October 22, 2014
Hi. Yes. Just a matter of fitting in the procedure with my other commitments. Having a sinus lift and bone grafting is the next stage of treatment, and the implants will be subsequently placed.

What's a sinus lift?

Here's a website to give you an idea of what a sinus lift is and also why the procedure is used. http://www.animated-teeth.com/tooth-implants/a-dental-implant-sinus-lift.htm

Extremely informative.  Wow, you've got quite a journey ahead of you.  Yours is the first sinus lift I've seen in the community.  I really hope you're willing to keep us updated on how it goes!

Sinus lift? What the...?

Melynda_G
No, the procedure isn't a beauty enhancement for sinuses in which you can get the sexy sinuses you've always wanted.

Because several people have asked about the procedure, I thought I'd post this:

There are other websites out there, and videos, that provide information. If you're considering the procedure, however, you should also discuss your individual case with an oral and maxillofacial surgeon or other dental specialist.

All I wanted for last Christmas was no wisdom teeth...

Melynda_G
Wish granted and then some.

Almost a year has passed since my wisdom teeth were removed. I want to again say a special thank you to Julian and the team. I'm enjoying 2014's festive cheer without my wisdom teeth's unwelcome company, and look forward to welcoming dental implants' company in 2015.

Also, thanks to the good people here on RealSelf for their valuable information, advice, and kindness.

Season's greetings! Have a fabulous one!

Season's greetings to you as well! :):)

I just had my four impacted wisdom teeth out about a month ago, and I'm still healing.  I got two dry sockets :(:(.  Terrible.  But I'm no longer in pain so I'm very, very pleased at this point!

I look forward to following your journey next year!  We're doing an international move at the end of December--a different kind of journey ;).  But I'll still be checking in here to see how you're doing.  Until then, enjoy the season!

Thank you :-) Sorry to hear that you had a bad experience while healing, but glad you feel better now. I totally understand your being pleased. Having impacted wisdom teeth is a pain in more ways than one, and having them removed makes an enormous difference for good. Best wishes for the move, and enjoy the holiday season. See you next year!
