Today is day 12 post op! I have been pleasantly surprised and pretty much see my doctor as a boob God. Recovery has not been bad... lipo under my arms and side is worse than the actual surgery itself. I was a 38F or 38DDD, 5'8 and 190 lbs. I am posting before pics and I will post a progress pic tomorrow as I am already in bed for the evening! Today was my first day back at work and I'm exhausted.
Day of surgery was a breeze and I was so happy I had the option of staying in the surgical center (small boutique hospital) overnight. Arrived at 12:30 on 12/28, surgery at 2 pm and I believe back in my recovery room to see my sister around 6 pm? Not completely sure. Worst part when waking up? My throat!!! Omg I couldn't get enough ice chips and then hot green tea with honey the rest of the night bc that tube tore my throats up! ???? Pain killers in the hospital worked wonders though and I was discharged the next morning around 10 am after my surgeon came in, showed me my cute perky boobies, cleared out drains and re-bandaged my breasts. I didn't want to fully look but from the look on my sisters face I knew I'd love the new girls! She was in shock to see them so small and perfect!!!! Our goal was a full C... that is yet to be determined but I think I'm pretty dang close. And she also thought they'd be scarier to look at; thankfully they were not.
Dr removed my drains on Friday 12/30 and that was the biggest relief on this journey this far! Right came out easy as pie ... left not so much. The nurse said the suture was tied very tightly... man that hurt but after they were out it was instant relief!
I have been super sore and I'm still taking hydrocodone and a muscle relaxer at night to help me sleep. I am a full blown tummy sleeper so laying inclined on my back has not been easy. I cannot wait to be able to work out bc I already feel so much smaller!!
I have been using aquaphor and hydrocortisone cream on the two red areas I have. Like I said - pictures tomorrow! 3rd post op apt is next Thursday the 19th - looking forward to that! SkinMedic scar recovery gel is on the way so I can start treating these scars soon! (Much cheaper on Amazon btw). I plan to use this and organic coconut oil. I have a friend who had BR and only used coconut oil.... her scars are miraculously nonexistent. But of course we all know that everyone is different.
Any regrets? ONLY that I didn't get the guts up to do this 10 years ago!!! And again.... my surgeon is a boob God - highly highly recommend Dr. Mosier. Any questions let me know. To be continued...

13 days post op
So here are some photos from today. Using hydrocortisone on my two red spots (note that they don't hurt at all) and aquaphor everywhere else. My boobies are peeling ???? and I can't even tell you how sensitive my nips are!!!! It's like if you pinched air I would feel it! Swelling is still super bad under my arms and I seem to be forming bruises around my nipples now that I don't feel like we're there before? Anyone else experience this late bruising, peeling and/or hypersensitivity on their nips? But all in all I think they're purtaayyyyyy.
I am still super achy! Taking 800 mg ibuprofen at work but doesn't seem to helpful. Suggestions?

I still felt sore after 2 weeks and occasionally took a Tylenol and an Advil in those first couple of weeks. Lookin good!

I'll also add that my skin peeled a lot around the 2 week mark. I was advised to use Bio-oil, which I found for a discount at Winners. I also started scar care then with the oil along with silicon scar gel. I too had a lot of bruising along the sides where lipo was performed, around the nipples and down the outer side of the horizontal incisions. I took arnica tablets -good for bruising. Sorry you have to work. I had time off and I lounged for too long.

Thank you! I'm thinking about buying the bio-oil this week! I received my scar gel today but I wasn't sure if I should start it without talking to the doc? I don't go see him until next Thursday! I'm glad to know someone else has experienced what I am!

The bio oil worked quickly to alleviate the dry skin. Good luck at your appointment. How are you feeling?

I'm feeling pretty good about everything except that one spot I have under my right breast... it's not opening, it doesn't hurt but there is some drainage from it... it definitely looks worse than it feels! I'm just keeping an eye on that for now. But honestly I feel like I'm doing everything I can.... washing them 1x per day, dressing them 2x and keeping them very moisturized with the aquaphor and hydrocortisone cream. After seeing so many women's stories though I am the thinking that having a red spot is pretty common?

I'm at 4 weeks exactly, and I'm still sore (though now I don't need to take painkillers), so I wouldn't worry too much. And I've now on the tail end of the third wave of bruising coming up, so I think that's normal too. AND my skin is still peeling - I very very gently exfoliate the areas where there are no incisions with a loofah glove and it's helping. Especially because the peeling skin was making me super super itchy.
One of my nipples was super sensitive for the first three weeks, but now it's back to normal, which is a relief. It was super uncomfortable!

Okay glad to know the late bruising wave is normal! I'll need to try a bit of exfoliation myself maybe. And girl I cannot wait for my nips to go back to normal... even semi normal! Lol
