Let me start off by providing a bit of background info about my perspective which may help. I come from a family of physicians (except myself), so I am well aware of the quality of care one would expect/hope for (and many times not receive) from a physician. I am highly critical of the quality of care, especially since I moved from an area that had a greater number of top notch physicians. Since I moved to Texas, particularly Austin, I have found it hard to find a physician who meets my expectations (whether it be quality of care, bedside manner, post-operative care, staff at the office, etc.), but Dr. Mosier and his office exceeds every single one of my expectations, hands down. Let me break my review down by category. First, I had a breast reduction and lift. It is a MAJOR surgery, and I had consultations with 3 other physicians over a year period to determine who to see for this. The other 3 physicians did not take insurance, but more importantly, did NOT agree to provide post-operative care after surgery except by having patients meet with their nurse or PA. The surgeons said they do not see their patients post-op except for 2 weeks after surgery, 6m, and a year. That is ABSURD! Dr. Mosier sees you personally. Yep - he sees you. He is meticulous about everything. He is a no-nonsense kind of person, who sets expectations on pre-op/post-op, sees you consistently post-op to ensure everything is healing correctly and on track, and is extremely personable. He doesn't pawn you off on an NP or PA. He sees you himself. His patient care level exceeds any other physician I have seen in Austin (and I have been here 20 years). You just don't find practices like this around anymore. His office staff is also wonderful. When you call, you talk with an actual human being! You aren't put on hold for hours or asked to leave voicemails. It is a very small office, and the women who work there are truly on top of things. Erika, Dr. Mosier's assistant, is super. She is responsive to questions, she will email as well, and when in doubt, she asks Dr. Mosier and he gets back to you ASAP. I rave about this practice and Dr. Mosier because this was truly the best surgical experience I have had. And, the appointments are on time! You are not waiting in the office for an hour to be seen. If insurance didn't cover my surgery (it did), I was ready to pay for it because Dr. Mosier's skillset cannot be matched. I would highly recommend Dr. Mosier and this specific practice for ANY plastic surgery need someone has. I am only 6 weeks out, I feel fantastic, I look fantastic, and my scars are healing wonderfully. *I will say, if insurance pays for it, take up the ability to stay overnight in the surgical center. They were fantastic as well, and they take care of you throughout the night after surgery.
I was very nervous going into this experience, but after interviewing multiple surgeons, I felt most comfortable with Dr. Mosier. He was helpful and professional with all my questions and concerns throughout the process. Erica, his nurse, is also exceptional and played a large part in my comfort and confidence. My surgery went very well - the hospital and other partners were excellent too - and I am very pleased with my results. I would highly recommend!
I had an extremely positive experience with Dr. Mosier, his staff, and the surgical hospital staff. I’m so pleased with the results of my bilateral breast reduction but also with the entire process. Dr. Nosier took the time to meet with me on my first visit and went through what I could expect in person. The day-of went smoothly - I felt prepared and cared for throughout the procedure and after. Two of my friends told me of nightmare times they had and I felt so lucky that I had truly the opposite. Going to the follow up appointments also showed me how much Dr.Mosiee and his staff care for their patients. Thank you!
I am writing this approximately 1 year after my last post-op checkup with Dr. Mosier, or 1 year & 3 months post-op. I have zero regrets and would do it again if I was sent back in time. Healing was quick and relatively painless, in part because I was 21 at the time of my reduction. The staff were very professional and empathetic, so I felt like I was safe and in good hands for the surgery. There was nothing inappropriate said or done during examinations pre- or post-op, and the staff seemed genuinely happy for me. I had asked for a reduction from a DDD+ cup size to a B/C but agreed that Dr. Mosier could make a judgment call on what size would best fit my body type during the surgery. At first after the surgery I was concerned that he had not taken off rough as I had to wear D cup bras, but that was mostly due to swelling. 15 months later the swelling is gone, the scars are fading nicely, and I am a solid C cup and very happy with this result. Because of the initial size of my breasts, we had to go with the anchor-shaped procedure rather than the lollipop one, so I still have some raised scar tissue under my breasts, but I expect that that will decrease further in the coming months. Pros and cons of my experience: Pros No more back/neck pain and better body posture Less unwanted attention Clothes fit off the rack with no alterations or shopping at specialty stores Less visible cleavage Much less boob sweat and lighter bras trap less heat Less boob pushed into the armpits Seat belts don’t ride up to my neck I can actually feel air movement when trying to pump the front of my shirt to cool down Cross-body bags don’t create massive cleavage I can reach across the table without getting food stains on my shirt Rain doesn’t exacerbate the appearance by making a wet upper chest and a completely dry stomach and underboob So much less drag when I’m swimming, and normal one-piece swimsuits that used to fit me everywhere except the chest now cover my whole chest I seemed to have greatly increased flexibility immediately post-op but it was just the removal of barriers to movement Cons I have to be slightly more careful with my clothing to avoid visible scars When I want to commiserate with my fellow unfortunate ladies, I have to mention the reduction so they know I know what it’s like My cat lost her favorite shelf to sit on to cuddle with me
Dr. Mosier is simply the best. After breastfeeding two babies, I desperately wanted to bring volume and perkiness back to my chest. He gave me exactly what I asked for (from a B to a D), and avoided having to give me a lift by picking a large enough implant to fill my loose skin and use the dual plain technique. For every appointment pre and post op, I saw Dr. Mosier himself, not a nurse or Dr. Assistant (like some other plastic surgeons use for these faster appointments), and he was always prompt, informational, helpful, and also friendly: Everything you could ask for in a plastic surgeon. When we were getting consultations, we had another plastic surgeon tell me that I was anatomically limited and unable to go from a B to a D. He showed me troubling photos of some very unfortunate breast augmentations that didn't look right, and he told me that based on my measurements (he took so many strange measurements), I would end up looking like those photos if I wanted a D cup. He also insisted on a lift with an arrogant, pretentious attitude. I am so thankful I met Dr. Mosier after this troubling consultation. He took one look at me, no measurements needed, and knew exactly what he would need to do to get the results I desired. Right now I am 3 months post op, and I couldn't be more pleased with the results.
Hands down the best plastic surgeon in Austin. Easing every fear and worry, this team comes highly recommended. I am 100%+ satisfied with the outcome of my surgery. Even the day of my surgery, the staff asked how I found Dr. Mosier, they told me you have found the best in the industry! And I did!
I had my procedure on 9/1 after reviewing this site for months. There are so many things to consider when choosing the correct Dr/Profile/Size for your body. I wanted a natural full look without having a large space between my breasts (something I see quite a bit of with BAs). I explained my desires to my Dr and he suggested I go with a moderate profile. This profile would give me the natural look and ensure my chest was taken up with the implants. I was a bit hesitant but trusted in his expertise. I'm about 3.5 weeks out and so far my progress is on track to give me the look I wanted (they should continue to move in closer as they heal). Updated on 1 Oct 2021: 4 weeks this past Wed Updated on 3 Oct 2021: Getting softer and softer every day Also, “morning boob” is almost gone. Updated on 9 Oct 2021: Wow, they’ve softened up SO much in the past week. My husband didn’t really want me to get an augmentation. He said he didn’t like the fake look. Now he’s singing a different tune. He had no idea fake boobs could be so real. If the are this good at only 5.5 weeks, I’m excited that they will just keep getting better and better! Updated on 21 Oct 2021: Not sure there’s been much change but still happy. Can sleep on my sides now which is a huge plus! Updated on 25 Nov 2021: They feel just like my natural breasts. No more heaviness or pain. I sleep comfortably and feel like they’ve always been a part of my body. Updated on 15 Mar 2022: Updated on 15 Mar 2022: Updated on 28 May 2022:
From my initial consultation, I knew I would choose Dr. Mosier to perform breast augmentation surgery. Both he and his staff far exceeded my expectations. I had no doubt he would give me the results I was looking for, and he did not disappoint.
Dr. Mosier and his staff are so kind and helpful from start to finish. Dr. Moiser aligns his work with your preferences and never tried to talk me into a size I wasn't comfortable with. I'm writing this review almost 1 year after surgery and can say they feel better with each passing month.
Dr. Mosier and his staff were great. I am extremely pleased with my results. I have so much more confidence but still look like myself, which is exactly what I wanted -- natural but more refined. He is very talented, has a great staff and office. I absolutely recommend him.
