Breast Reduction. I'm super excited!

Surgery completed :)

WORTH IT
Hiii! I had my breast reduction surgery the end of January 2020 (less than a week ago). My surgeon, Dr.Weinstein was great. The staff and all the nurses were so nice and attentive. The day of my surgery they prescribed me an anxiety medication so I could be at ease and not nervous, it definitely helped! I remember them taking me in, giving me anesthesia and and then I woke up. Surgery did take about 4.5 hours, I was a 38DDD/F and went down to a full C. I went to my first post op appointment two days ago and everything looks good. I am still bruised and still in pain but not as bad as the first three days. I was weak, unable to lift arms, and out of breath easily. So far I am happy that I FINALLY went though with it and happy with results. I’m just anxious to see them fully healed. :) (I will try to post pictures soon) I definitely recommend Dr.Larry Weinstein.

omg! I had mine on jan 30th. I'm not sure what size I am now. I had alot of ptosis so I fear they will be way too small, but at least my back will feel better. I hope for a c. we will see when the swelling subsides. Today is the first day I have felt somewhat normal. I go for my first follow up on Monday. I was a DDD on the left and D on the right, but like I said mostly skin. So cross your finger for me that I don't end up looking like a 10 year old. :( nervous....very nervous. Glad to hear yours is going well and glad to find someone so close to the same timeline. thanks for sharing.

Wow! Yes, glad can speak to someone that just got their reduction as well! I read so much before surgery, but did not think will be like this. I thought I was superwoman, realized definitely need to take it day by day. I feel so weird with boobs so small. I said I went down to a C but also have to wait until fully healed. I'm sure we will both be happy! :) question: Do you know anything about breast massages? I read it's good after two weeks or so, I have to ask my surgeon on next visit. Best of luck with your process and speedy healing!

I haven't heard about breast massages, I imagine if you can tolerate it and don't pull at the stitches it can't hurt. I have a vibration setting on my bed frame that I used cause I read that it might help with the swelling. I was very swollen until yesterday. Yesterday, I took 800 mg motrin and today I feel nearly normal. I took motrin am/pm and tylenol in the middle. l know they worry a bit about bleeding with motrin, but it is the only thing that gave me relief from the swelling.
I just went for my first followup and they removed the steri strips off the nipples. I have such a weak stomach, it freaked me out a bit. Better now, but I must have went pale cause the PA was like are you ok? lol She said everything looks real good and healing nicely. I can definitely tell it will be more comfortable when the swelling goes down....boobs just weren't meant to rest on your stomach! LOL so glad I did it, but still a little nervous they may go way smaller. I guess I'll just have to wait and see. She said she expects that there will still be some seepage for maybe another few days to a week. I go back again on the 27th. looking forward to wearing a swimsuit that maybe won't feel like it's trying to cut my head off with the tie! Hope you are healing well! I will say that the steri strips on the underneath started to smell from the showers, kind of like a wet towel. I called at Day 9 post op and the doc said just take them off. The musty smell was giving me major anxiety so I just wanted to let you know in case you have the same occurrence. Take care and good luck to you.

Surgeon update

So I would like to start off by saying I did not go with Dr.Pierce as my first post stated. It was too much back and forth with the office, my insurance and my out of pocket amount. The office staff was still exceptional with the process, so I still do recommend them if you have a good health insurance. (I have BCBSNJ)

Surgery scheduled!!

Maddy M
I can’t believe my breast reduction surgery is finally scheduled after so many years of contemplating to do it or not. I’m super nervous, yet excited at the same time. This will be my first surgery ever, so I’m overwhelmed-but I can’t wait to be done and see my results. More importantly praying the aches symptoms really go away. If anyone read this that have also done BR surgery, any tips on what to expect before/after will be appreciated. :)
