One Special Surgeon

Let’s start with the words SPECIAL GIFT. Dr. Markarian has been given a gift, a gift of his hands for surgery, a gift of his vision with each patient and the gift of maintaining professionalism and perfection. He recently performed a breast reduction on me, a huge surgery and a surgery that requires precision. I was hesitant and frankly scared as it was my very first time being put to sleep. From the moment I met Dr. Markarian he put my mind at ease, he answered every question I asked, even when I asked the same question multiple times and made me feel so comfortable. He took his time to explain every detail about the surgery. His professional demeanor and work ethic are unmatched. He is no joke in the operating room and the staff at the hospital echoed that! The nurses the day of surgery sung his praises and reiterated I couldn't be in better hands. He is focused and determined to make each patient have the best experience possible because he cares about his patients. The procedures he does are so routine for him as this is his job yet he never made me feel like I was just another patient. My surgery was done at Nashoba Valley hospital and at one point I asked him “if something goes wrong because that is a smaller hospital are they equipped to handle it?” Without hesitation he answer me and gave me 3-4 reasons why he chooses to operate in a hospital setting and specifically in that hospital. We all know doctors we wouldn’t send our dogs too and that’s why doing your research is so important, especially in elective surgeries. Dr. Markarian is in a league of his own. From his bedside manner to his staff and most importantly to the work of art he performs daily in surgery is something you don’t find with every surgeon or practice. I couldn’t be happier with my results and how he has changed my life.

On a side note, surgeons are on their feet for several hours at a time and it’s important their legs and feet are supported properly, Dr. Markarian hands down has the best footwear EVER! Also, the only reason my husband tags along to my follow up appointments is to check out his shoes.

Lastly, you won’t have any regrets with Dr. Markarian. I promise. The patient experience is amazing I would recommend Dr. Markarian every day of the week!
