If You're Looking for a Surgeon, Choose Navid Jallali!
Where do I even begin..
I have always (from the age of 14) wanted a breast reduction. I am 25, a size 10 and had 32FF boobs. Bikinis, yoga bras, strappy tops and most cute dresses were things I only dreamed about wearing and running without literal scaffolding keeping my boobs in was impossible.
For my 25th birthday last year I decided I was old enough and ready to get a breast reduction, and so I started researching surgeons, but after a few consultations I was really unhappy and disenchanted with the surgeons I had met. Then I found Realself and saw a review from a young woman who seemed to have the same experience as me (small frame, big boobs, always dreamed of having a BR) and she recommended Dr Jallali, so I booked a phone consultation and INSTANTLY knew he was the one!
We met in person in July 2021 and talked about my reasons behind wanting the surgery, when I'd want it and what kind of results I was looking for. He showed me examples of his previous cases, talked me through the risks and was incredibly open and honest the entire time, which I found incredibly reassuring. He was friendly, knowledgeable, professional and kind which are traits I hadn't picked up in the other surgeons I met.
I booked my surgery for Jan 2022 and worked with Charlotte, Navid's fabulous PA, to get everything ready, including payments/deposits to secure the surgery date.
When it came to 12th Jan, I went to Wellbeck Hospital with my mum but she couldn't come in with me because of Covid, which was actually really sad as I was hugely nervous. As soon as I was taken up to my room by the nurse, Dr Jallali arrived to welcome me, take my measurements and run through final pre-op information. We agreed once more the shape and size I was looking for and he said I was the second case of the day.
At 1030 ish I was taken downstairs by the nurse and met by the anaesthetist who really calmed me down - I was physically shaking! - and was so lovely and kind. I remember him putting the needle in and saying 'that's the most painful thing you'll feel all day' and thinking, wow, that's nice!
Then, I woke up! I was probably very annoying to the nurses and remember asking them at least 5 times if I'd had the surgery yet (sorry!!) but they were just as lovely as everyone else and wheeled me back to my room, where i was looked after and given lunch. I fell in and out of sleep most of the day and then my mum picked me up in a taxi to take me home.
The recovery was AN ABSOLUTE BREEZE! I took two weeks off work but I legit could have gone back to work the next day if I was working from home. The co-codamol made me really constipated (tmi sorry) so I stopped taking it on Day 3 all together and didn't take any pain killers, not even paracetamol, after that. The first time I took the bra off I cried! My boobies were standing up all by themselves and I have never, ever in my life of having boobies, seen them stand up all perky like that. It was such a wonderful shock. The bruising was quite shocking too but I regularly updated Charlotte with pictures and she reassured me that everything was normal and healthy.
I had my two week post op with Dr Jallali where he changed the tape for the first time and because I had really rested and not done anything strenuous, the stitches had begun to heal perfectly. I was sooo so chuffed with my new boobs.
At about 5.5 weeks I developed an allergic reactions to my Macom bra (i've never ever had an allergic reaction like that before) and had to go and buy lots of comfy cotton sports bras to wear. At 7 weeks I had my next check up and the allergic reaction had healed and Dr Jallali told me how happy he was with the healing and shape.
I've just had my 6 month post op and i am the happiest woman alive! I am sat here writing this review in a beautiful strappy summer dress, no bra and feeling absolutely perfect. This time last year the thought of wearing something like this would have been a depressing one, because i never could've fit in a something so dainty. But here i am! almost 26 and finally happy in my body!
If you are on the fence about getting this surgery, DO IT. I cannot recommend this surgery enough, and i cannot recommend Dr Jallali enough! He and Charlotte have been such wonderful, helpful and caring Drs and I cannot thank them enough!
Things to bear in mind when speaking to surgeons for this procedure:
* You may think you want a certain cup size, but it is more about the shape than the size. I asked for round, perky boobs and I went from a 32 FF to a 32 E. Which doesn't sound like a big change but if you look at the pictures you will see it is!!
* Buy a cotton post-op bra if you can. My allergic reaction was really scary and I cried soo much thinking that my new boobs were ruined forever. Have lots of E45 cream ready just in case too!
* Look around, speak to lots of different surgeons. Ask for pictures of their previous clients, check to see what the scars are like (are they tidy, are they thin?) and where the nipples are (are they way to high up? are they wonky?).
* Speak to surgeons themselves , not companies that act as an intermediary for surgeons, if you can. It is so important to build rapport with your surgeon and know them personally.
* When you first come out of surgery you will look SO flat chested. My mum cried because she thought I'd turned into a child lol.. But as you will see from the pics, your boobs change as they settle down and they will grow! So I suggest going smaller than you'd like.
* HAVE FUN! This was such a nerve wracking but truly amazing process in my life and I cannot put into words how much I have enjoyed it all. I would honestly do it again in a heart beat but the results I have with Dr Jallali are SO SO SO AMAZING!!
Thank you Dr Jallali and Charlotte, you have made me one happy lady!
