Moving towards a healthier future! 32M/N to a 32FF breast reduction

Moving Towards a Healthier Future
I had a reduction April, from a 32m/n to a 32ff to increase my ease and comfort of everyday function. Mr Karoo was clear about my personal risk levels and upfront about potential complications due to the size of my reduction. I received a copy of my consultation notes which was useful to refer to. I chose to have a precautionary mammogram before surgery which provided a good baseline, as I'd never been confident that self examination was effective with such large breasts.
My surgery was at St Joseph's in Newport, which went smoothly with diligent and caring staff looking after me on the ward, and an excellent anaesthetist who ensured I felt prepared and reassured.
Since the op, Mr Karoo has been diligent in his advice and follow up with minor healing issues, to act quickly and proactively nip any issues in the bud. Sometimes this was face to face appointments, or I sent photos via for him to review.
The impact this surgery has had is hard to quantify: but I can go swimming with my kids again, I can bend over to cut my toenails easily, I can dress in "average" clothes from "average" shops, and I no longer play second fiddle to my breasts! I'm heading towards a healthy BMI for the first time in my adult life and looking forwards to a healthier more active older age.
If you are considering this surgery; pay attention to your own risk levels and be prepared to play your part in ensuring a good result. I'd suggest not setting your heart on a particular cup size, but instead think of the positive outcomes in your life you'd like post surgery. There will be scars (mine are very neat) there may be sensation loss (though my sensation is normal) there may be slight differences between left and right; there were before. Mr Karoo has managed as near to a perfect job as I could have imagined. My heartfelt thanks.
