Dr. Villanueva is Amazing--you're in Amazing Hands As His Patient!

WORTH IT
I recommend Dr. Villanueva wholeheartedly—in fact, I can’t recommend him enough, he’s absolutely fantastic. He is an incredibly skilled, measured, ethical, kind, patient, and careful plastic surgeon. I got several procedures done with him—breast reduction, lip 360, lipo arms, lip chin—and I’m so glad I chose Dr. Villanueva for all this work.
I’m so incredibly happy with the breast reduction results. I asked him to do do something that was proportional to the rest of my body, and I put my full trust in his hands to make the best aesthetic decision for me while I was in the operating room. I’m so pleased with final results—the breasts are symmetrical, the incisions are as neat as possible, healing was smooth, and I look so much better in my clothes and have been so excited again to get into fashionable clothes that I was previously too self-conscious to wear before because of my large breasts.
Dr. Villanueva is a thoughtful and talented surgeon for a variety of procedures, but liposuction is a particular specialty for him. It’s sooooo important to be thoughtful, careful, and detail-oriented with liposuction, especially with younger women in their 20-30s. It’s too easy to go overly aggressive with liposuction and cause unwanted side effects such as sagging skin and contour irregularities.
This was something that Dr. Villanueva did a really thoughtful and measured job in counseling me about given my goals and current anatomy (even advising me against one particular thing that I was wanting but Dr. Villanueva felt wouldn’t be in my long-term interest). This is not something to be taken for granted—he cares about his patients over the long haul and is thinking about things that you as the patient may not immediately be aware of. There are definitely surgeons who will be super aggressive becomes their patients are asking for it, but that may not necessarily the most responsible thing to do. He is minded toward natural aesthetics for younger women, which goes a long way in terms of his thoughtfulness about how your projected results are going to age over time, rather than just going for an aggressive result that you may regret later as you age.
It was really important to me to see a board-certified plastic surgeon with top-notch training in aesthetics (as it should be to everyone seeking plastic surgery for cosmetic reasons, I would argue). Dr. Villanueva’s credentials and training are impeccable (UT Southwestern plastic surgery resident, LA-based aesthetics fellowship). Given my prior medical history with previous surgeries and my desired outcomes at this point in life relative to how I hope to age moving forward, I have no doubt in my mind that my results would have not been what they are if I went to someone else who wasn’t trained at the level Dr. Villanueva is, or alternatively someone who was more apt to go for a short-term gain over the patient’s long-term interest.
Overall, I can’t recommend Dr. Villanueva enough, and he deserves the highest praise for his patient care and craft!
