GG cup to C cup with mesh under skin to prevent keloid scarring

I have been beyond pleased with Dr. Tannan and my breast reduction. When looking for a surgeon, there were a couple of things that mattered to me - I was looking for, ideally, a woman or WOC surgeon, affordable surgery (since I was choosing not to go the insurance route), and a collaborative relationship. I was very lucky to find Dr. Tannan after only 1 other consultation.

Dr. Tannan's staff is entirely female and her office feels very state of the art and high-end (though this might be a given for most plastic surgeons). She was probably more excited to have the surgery done than I was and I really appreciated her level of enthusiasm (especially considering my general anxiety about...everything). But she also really knows her stuff. She recommended that for me as a black woman, we do a mesh lining under the skin, which would prevent keloid scarring and help keep my new breast lifted and when looking at her previous work and the work of other plastic surgeon, I could tell this really made a difference. She managed to get me down from a GG to a very perky C and I am over the moon about it.

However, probably the most important thing about Dr. Tannan is that she managed to impress my mother, which is definitely a feat in and of itself. My mom was my primary caregiver post-surgery and she was able to hang out and work in a very comfortable private green room while the surgery took place (these little details mean the most to me).

The only thing I would caution BR researchers about is that from my initial consult to the date of surgery was about 5 months, which felt like a long time to wait for me, but I think that mostly speaks to Dr. Tannan's popularity.
