The decision to pursue any plastic surgery can be a difficult one, and that apprehension can come back with a vengeance when deciding to get a revision rhinoplasty. After all, going through it one time is difficult enough without the additional disappointment, regret, and anguish that surrounds not getting a result you wanted. In my case, I felt as though my original surgeon had made my nose look good aesthetically, but did not address the underlying concern of it not appearing straight. When I brought these concerns up with him, he dismissed them altogether before telling me to push my nose repeatedly and it would eventually move. Well, I tried that for 10 years, but no amount of pushing or reassurance or particularly photogenic angles would give me a nose that felt like it was MINE, that didn’t lend itself to years of insecurities and offhanded comments. It finally got to the point where I could confidently say I made peace with myself, and part of that was making peace with seeing if I could ever improve the symmetry of my nose. Alls this to say, the decision to get a revision rhinoplasty was not one I made lightly, and if you are here, chances are it isn’t one you’re making lightly either. I was especially nervous because of what I wanted to achieve with a revision. I wanted a nose that appeared straighter. Scouring the internet, I poured over before-and-after photos from countless surgeons, with some achieving outcomes I’d be very happy with and many not. I came across Dr. Tannan because of her glowing reviews and decided to take the chance on a consult just to see if what I wanted was 1.) physically possible and 2.) possible without spending $20k and flying to another state. When I talked to Dr. Tannan, she was very blunt about what she would and would not do based on what she felt would lead to optimal outcomes, which I deeply respected. Although many people say, “surgeons just want to cut,” she considered my history (with both a broken nose and a previous rhinoplasty) and my anatomy before determining that she would be able to implant a small piece of cartilage to support the structure of the nose and lend itself to a straighter appearance. I will admit, I was skeptical; after all, the initial rhinoplasty seemed very involved, and this seemed extremely minimal in comparison. However, Dr. Tannan did not show me any photos of me edited to show my before and after with the surgery, she didn’t show me what might happen. Instead, she just showed me real life examples of patients who pursued this method and allowed me to determine if I was happy with them. I thought they looked amazing, so I ended up booking a surgery. Although I was initially planning on doing it further out, they had a cancellation and were able to fit me in fairly quickly (within 2 months, if memory serves). Day of, the entire team was AMAZING. This makes sense if you meet Dr. Tannan herself, as she is a rare breed in medicine that makes you feel important, heard, understood, and validated when she is interacting with you. However, she has curated an extremely knowledgeable and compassionate all-women team at her practice. From the circulating nurse who helped ease my nerves with kindness and humor to the anesthetist that expertly ran me through everything and patiently answered all my questions to Dr. Tannan herself who is, again, extremely personable, I felt very safe and comfortable throughout the entire process. My support person was also able to be comfortable while waiting for me, as the practice has a very nice waiting room equipped with a TV, couches, snacks, and beverages. After surgery, I naturally felt some discomfort, but since this was a closed rhinoplasty, it was NOTHING compared to what I had experienced with an open rhinoplasty. I had zero bruising and little swelling, minimal bleeding, no external cuts or scarring, and no stiffness in the tip of my nose so I could talk, smile, and eat normally. I was given one of the nurse’s phone numbers who was always helpful when answering questions. In my case, they had to make incisions on both sides of my nose instead of just one, and it was still miles and miles better than an open rhinoplasty. When I went in to get my cast taken off a week later, I only had some remaining swelling and tenderness to pressure and that also subsided quickly. Your mileage may vary, but for me, it was genuinely a cakewalk as far as surgeries go (I would do it 10 times over before I ever do wisdom teeth again, for example). I am now 6 months post-op and I cannot believe how happy I am with my appearance still. Dr. Tannan was extremely realistic with me on what I could expect, but she has such a profound understanding of facial aesthetics that she knocked it out of the park and gave me a nose that fits me perfectly. For the first month or so, I would look compulsively in the mirror worried I’d somehow mess up my nose and ruin how good it looks, but so far, I haven’t managed to do that and in learning to trust Dr. Tannan’s work I have been freed. It sounds a bit dramatic to those on the outside, but it genuinely changed how I engage with the world for the better. I finally feel at peace with something that made me insecure for over half of my life, and I am so grateful. When it comes to any plastic surgery, I cannot recommend Dr. Tannan and her team enough. I left this experience feeling seen, heard, and extremely happy.
I absolutely love Dr Tannan! She’s real and down to earth and makes the entire experience feel “normal” if that makes sense. I was treated like a person at my consult and throughout the entire process not just a patient. I had an extremely negative experience at another plastic surgeon. The consult was awkward, I was interrupted and ignored about my concerns and why I wanted the procedure I got. The doctor (who was a man) was dismissive and just wanted money. Dr Tannan was a breath of fresh air and I love that the whole office is entirely female. I’d recommend her to ANYONE.
I am currently 3 months post-tummy tuck and could not be more thrilled with my decision and results! Dr. Tannan and her team were extremely professional, compassionate, attentive, and very responsive. I felt at ease and informed throughput each stage of my tummy tuck journey. I would recommend Tannan Plastic Surgery to anyone! Thank you all so much for all that you do!!!
I had 2 consultations set up with Dr Tannan being my first one and right from the first moment we met her, we felt like we were talking with an old friend. Very easy to talk with and made me feel very comfortable. My 2nd one we felt like we were just another patient. Our choice was very easy! Every step of the process was a great experience. Dr Tannan and her staff treated us like family and were all so easy to work with. Dr Tannan was very honest with me as to which procedure would be best between a breast lift or breast augmentation. I went with the breast lift and couldn’t be any happier with the results. I would most definitely recommend to anyone thinking about having procedure that they meet with Dr. Tannan before making any final decisions. If I decide in the future to have anything else done I will definitely go with them!
I had been considering getting a breast reduction for over a decade and when I started doing research and came across Tannan Plastic Surgery. I was instantly drawn to her practice when I saw that she had an all female staff. That initial peace of mind encouraged me to finally take the leap to set-up a consultation. From the first phone call with the office manager, Yoli, expectations about the procedure, cost and timeline were set. I loved Dr. Tannan from the moment I met her during my initial consultation. She made it very easy for me to understand what the process would be and spoke with an open, authentic candor. She took the time to know my lifestyle enough to see how the recovery would effect my day-to-day (like me not being able to lift a suitcase into an overhead bin on an airplane or walk a leash aggressive dog). This helped me make a decision to move forward and I was lucky enough to fill in a cancellation spot just weeks after my initial consultation. Throughout the entire process Dr. Tannan and her team were incredibly communicative and available when I had questions. They also provided a lot of great take-home resources including specific links to her website where she's outlined every detail down to recommend post-op recovery bras. As I've been back for my follow-ups, over the past few months post-op, I'm continuously impressed by the staff. They greet me by name every time. The office is always lovely. They've done such a fantastic job, that since my surgery I've started seeing them for other, more routine services like Botox as well. For anyone who has been considering a breast reduction, I can't begin to explain how happy I have been with the results and I know a very large part of that has been the staff I've worked with at Tannan Plastic Surgery.
Awesome. Truly would recommend to anyone who is interested in fixing a part of their body that they are unhappy with. Staff there (Heather, Rachel, etc.) are all SO sweet and welcoming. Such a pretty, clean office too. & I LOVE my new boobs - I went under the muscle too!
Life-Changing Care from Dr. Tannan and Her Team Dr. Tannan and her team truly changed my life. 2022 and 2023 were some of the hardest years I’ve ever faced. I gained a lot of weight, was constantly in pain, and felt completely miserable. It felt like the beginning of major hormonal changes, and I no longer recognized the person I saw in the mirror. I was deeply unhappy. That’s when I decided to look into breast reduction surgery. Dr. Tannan was already at the top of my list for a consultation, and as soon as I met her, I knew she was the right choice. She was kind, compassionate, and genuinely listened to my concerns and goals. Not once did she make me feel uncomfortable — and that meant everything, especially since it's not easy to expose your body when you’re feeling so down about it. From start to finish, Dr. Tannan and her team were incredible. The breast reduction was the best decision I could have made. The results were perfect — better than I could have hoped for. But I still had a journey ahead. I knew I needed to lose at least 30 pounds before considering a tummy tuck, and that was no easy task, especially with my hormones making everything harder. Thankfully, Dr. Tannan’s office also offers medical weight loss support. At that point, I needed all the help I could get. Kristie was amazing — supportive, knowledgeable, and always checking in with genuine care. With her help, I lost about 50 pounds from my heaviest weight, and I've kept it off. When the time came for my tummy tuck, I was ready — and once again, the surgery went beautifully. I’m absolutely thrilled with the results. I feel like a completely new person. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Tannan and her team to everyone — even if you're not considering plastic surgery. She is just that good. I’m beyond grateful for the support, care, and expert guidance I’ve received. Thanks to Dr. Tannan, I feel my absolute best.
I can’t recommend Dr. Tannan and her team enough! I first discovered Dr. Tannan back in 2020 when I decided to start looking into having a Labiaplasty. I always experienced discomfort in that area and thought it was something I would just have to deal with, until I started doing research and found out something could actually be done. I had a consultation with her that year but I couldn’t decide on the right time to have it done so I pushed it back. After 4 years of pushing it back I came back to Dr. Tannan and finally went through with the procedure. I was expecting to feel nervous during the pre op appointment and on the actually surgery day, but I was not nervous at all because Dr. Tannan has such a calm and comforting energy about her. I felt completely taken care of by her and her wonderful team. I healed incredible and fast and recovery wasn’t bad at all! I am about 4 months post op now and I am so thankful I just did it because I feel so much more comfortable in my body and I owe that all to Dr. Tannan!!
I cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Tannan and her team!! Let me start by saying I have wanted this for YEARS. I’ve done years of research—researching doctors, techniques, implants, etc. The doctors in my hometown all produce heavily augmented looks, that are often significantly larger than the patient requested (I know several women who were seen by them and have also heard this secondhand). That isn’t the look I wanted, and I’m entirely too type A to go to sleep and wake up with a size much larger than I wanted….probably the biggest reason I never could commit. When I found Dr. Tannan, I immediately made an appointment for a consultation, even though her office was 6 hours away from me. After my virtual consultation with her, I knew immediately she was my surgeon. I got some nerves along the way, as I’ve never been put to sleep and never had any procedure like this done. She and her team answered all my emails and calls and questions along the way. I never felt like I was an inconvenience to them. I always felt like they cared for me not just as a patient but as a human. She also has unlimited resources on her website—which helped put my wandering mind to rest and manage expectations. The day before my procedure I had my in person consultation. Dr. Tannan is so calming and put me at ease immediately, answering all my questions and explaining her thought process. As a healthcare worker and expert in my own field, I appreciated how thorough she was in explaining her methodology, reasoning, and technique. The day of the surgery, I was so at ease! Her all female team made me feel like a VIP. Her CRNA has the most calming voice and demeanor and made me feel so relaxed with the entire procedure. And on top of all of that, I woke up with the most amazing, natural, beyond what I ever could have hoped for results. My only regret is that I didn’t find Dr. Tannan and her team sooner!! Guarantee if I have any other procedures, I will travel 6 hours to see her and her team time and time again!! I truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience!
Dr. Tannan and her team were amazing from the start. The first time I met with her I knew I would have my procedure completed by her. She is very professional as well as all of the staff there. They really care about their patients. I had a mommy makeover. After having a child 23 years ago and losing over 50lbs it was time for me to start feeling amazing again. I am 6 weeks post surgery and feel amazing. I look better and better every single day. If you are on the fence about having surgery done by Dr. Tannan I am here to tell you, you won’t regret it. She was recommended to me by a friend and I will recommend her to anyone who is looking to improve their body.
Thank you for sharing your question - I am sorry you are going through this. Rhinoplasty recovery time depends on how it was done - open or closed. At Tannan Plastic Surgery I performed closed, or endonasal rhinoplasty for the most part. This means there are no external scars. Open rhinoplasty, where there is a scar under your nose results in a longer recovery time that can even be greater than one year. It is critical to allow the nose to recover after the surgery before embarking on more surgery. While that is frustrating and difficult, it helps to remember that revision surgery performed too soon would have unpredictable results and would not treat the whole problem. Your options are to return to your original surgeon to discuss revision surgery options, or to find someone else. In general I recommend seeing a board certified plastic surgeon who specializes in revision work. This is a different kind of rhinoplasty and it is helpful to go to someone trustworthy and experienced after you have suffered the challenges you mention in your question. Best of luck to you, Dr. Shruti Tannan Tannan Plastic Surgery
Great question. Labiaplasty cost, as with many other plastic surgery procedures, varies based on where you have it done and the team involved. At Tannan Plastic Surgery we have a cost calculator for this procedure and others so patients do not feel like they are in the dark about it until the time of consultation. Things that increase both your expense and your safety include: having a board certified plastic surgeon perform this procedure in an accredited surgical center with certified anesthesia and staff. Frankly that is the only option I would go with - which is to have all the staff and the surgical center be certified. That is why my colleagues and I caution patients against going to the person with the lowest price. While it may be easier on the wallet on the front end, it could prove to be dangerous after all is said and done. Performing the procedure under local anesthesia will reduce the cost, as it eliminates the need for general anesthesia. Evaluation by your board certified plastic surgeon will help you determine what to expect with treating one or both labia. The most important thing is to be informed about your options. Best to you! What a great question! Tummy Tuck costs vary greatly depending on where you live and how your surgeon does this procedure. Please see my attached video for the basics of how we perform this surgery and your expected recovery. In general most board certified plastic surgeons perform this procedure with some sort of certified anesthesiology provider to care for you and comfort you while the surgeon performs the operation. We do these procedures in certified surgical centers. Cost can range from $5000 or $7000 on up to $8,000 - $10,000, depending on the cost of all these important supportive parts of our surgical team. At Tannan Plastic Surgery we also utilize liposuction as a part of this procedure to smoothen your contours and the transition to optimize your silhouette. That is figured into the cost calculation for you as well. We have created an online cost calculator resource that helps our patients answer this very question! Best of luck to you, Shruti Tannan, MD
Labiaplasty recovery is typically straightforward. When your swelling subsides, which is right around now, you may notice changes in your stitches. Some will start to loosen when your edema goes down, and the occasional stitch falling out at this time is not alarming in my experience as a plastic surgeon. I will tell you that if things are happening that are concerning you in your recovery, you should call your surgeon. She may ask you to come in and be seen. She can recommend ointments or activity modifications depending upon what she sees when she examines you. Best, Shruti Tannan, MD
Liposuction is a powerful technique to restore your silhouette, as are butt lifts with fat grafting - and congratulations to you on having both done. Typically sticking to the postop regimen of wearing garments and minimizing pressure on the buttocks, and maintaining your healthy lifestyle allows you to optimize your result. Some of the buttock lift is inevitably lost when some of the fat graft and edema after surgery is absorbed by the body - and you can see that occur over the first six months. Likewise as the edema subsides from the rest of your body where the lipo was done (belly, flanks, waistline), you will start to see the final result - around 3-6 months after surgery. The final contour or shape depends on the tissue that was removed, how well your skin and soft tissue contracts or "shrinks" back with its elasticity, and your overall healing. Having fluid pockets means your healing may be disrupted with a seroma, or fluid that has not been absorbed by the body. Thanks for sharing your photos. Based on what you are describing I would recommend you tell your surgeon about the fluid pockets and contour changes and be evaluated to see why your healing process is not progressing as you both expected. Good luck! Shruti Tannan, MD (Tannan Plastic Surgery)
