3 Days Before my Reduction! the Journey So Far

Am 3 days pre-op: I spent so many years belittling my problems that were caused by my macromastia, and so knew I wanted a female surgeon who would understand me & not put so much focus on “attractiveness” etc. compared to prioritising the health of my body and mind, how I feel. Still I came in afraid initially, uncertain if there were any arbitrary rules with my Aetna insurance... but the first consultation completely washed all my fears away!

It was especially made amazing by the front desk, Dominique, who dispelled any mysteries there were surrounding my insurance in GENERAL! (like how my yearly deductible/co-insurance worked). Dr. Kiwanuka also explained both the technical and emotional aspects of the process judgment-free, in a manner that made it really easy to understand. Explained a bit about the surgery technique too (that “rotation” is kind of cool lol). I came out of the consult really confident that this was what I wanted… and that I could afford to do it :)

Plus it’s a very well organised practice. I made my initial consult around February but still knew everything from around how many weeks before my surgery date I would get a call, etc., thank God :)
