Consultation review: doctor was rude & impatient with me

While her staff and the surgical resident present at my appointment were excellent, I found Dr. Aylward herself to be rude, abrupt and arrogant. From the moment she walked in the room, her attention was divided. She would ask me a question and interrupt me mid-sentence to say something to a staff member. Ultimately she decided she was not comfortable doing my procedure, which is her prerogative. However, she never gave me the opportunity to discuss her objections to doing the surgery. Doctors are supposed to listen to their patient and be a human first. Even if our conversation wouldn’t have changed her mind, she still should have let me address the issues she brought up, answered my questions, and clarified a few points. Instead, I felt like she wanted to get me out the door as quickly as possible.
