So disappointed - left with uneven areolas and nasty scar

So Disappointed.

TLDR: uneven areolas, nasty scar. will have corrective surgery with a different doctor

I really don't understand what went wrong with my procedure. I look at the reviews here and everything looks stellar but I couldn't be more disappointed with my results for the reduction & lift Dr. Polo performed on me last October. The clinic, staff, and overall hospital experience is perfectly fine - I have no complaints there, and Dr. Polo himself is nice and respectful. The reason for my surgery was an asymmetry where one breast was larger and much saggier than the other and also an areola reduction. When I went in for the pre-op, Dr. Polo told me that they wouldn't end up being identical, but that they'd "try our best". I ignored the uneasiness this comment gave me because I'd already come in from another country and this was the only week that I could fit the surgery into. I also trusted the great reviews and the clinic - I was referred to from a Dr. Kelley (now retired, preceded Dr. Polo in this clinic) success story.

The larger breast was reduced to a size that matches the other fairly well, although they look very different as we opted for only a donut lift on the other breast (I didn't want implants). The areolas are the biggest issue for me. They are entirely different sizes and shapes. The one on the left is MUCH smaller, isn't even circular, and it's now located so far up on my breast that I can't wear anything with the slightest bit of cleavage or it'll peek out if I lean forward. The main reason I had this surgery was because my clothing options were too limited. Now they're just as restrictive, but in a different way.

The other issue I have stems from a complication and general scarring. A few weeks post surgery, I developed a seroma. Dr. Polo had to cut me open with scissors (under no anesthesia) so it would drain out. This left a really nasty scar, which I was very vocal pre surgery about wanting to avoid. And every now and then I still get a weird spot or wound along the scars. The last one was a tear in this same scar just 2-3 weeks ago. It's been eight months since my surgery and I feel so helpless.

Do I regret having the surgery? No, I have a lot more freedom in terms of clothing than I did before. Am I happy with the results otherwise? Not in the slightest.

I've been seen by several dermatologists and plastic surgeons since the surgery and they've all been shocked at how poor the results are. One surgeon from my home country asked why I came to the US for this surgery, and my dermatologist from Miami said, "Polo did this? I'm surprised, I'd heard he was good. I don't know what happened". The other plastic surgeron my derm referred me to in Miami the same day said something similar. I'll probably have corrective surgery with this other doctor now because this is just depressing for me at this point. I already shelled out $11k+ for the initial surgery and now the corrective surgery will be $5k+, without mentioning the flights, hotel, and time investment required. The other doctor also suggested a fat graft afterwards, so that adds to the cost.

In my last visit to Dr. Polo, I did mention my discontent and he kind of just shrugged it off.
