Not a good experience with Robin Van look!!
I am writing this review to help other ladies who are considering going to Mr Van Look from the UK or other countries- I want to help you decide to go somewhere else if you are considering a breast reduction with Robin Van Look....
I had deliberated for a very long time about having a breast reduction and eventually went with Mr Van Look because a person who has recently given a good reference for him on this site( for a facelift) is someone I know and trust......It is true that I underestimated the enormity of the operation as I had a boob enlargement through the nipple 12 years ago and was back on a horse within 7 days - no pain whatsoever.
This time around things were very different and I am lucky that I have a very understanding husband as it pretty much destroyed my life for a year after the operation(and his ..with me complaining!!!!)
Things look very different to me now as I have had the surgery corrected in the UK 2 months ago ...but this cost me £8000 and the original op with Mr Van Look was Euros 4,500 but I only chose Robin Van Look because of the good experience of my friend as listed above..not because of the ££
Unfortunately Mr Van Look is £ orientated and his operation timetable is like a conveyor belt- I felt violated after attending the day clinic with a very painful anaesthetist process and a few hours in an ';operating chair'
The surgeon I used to correct Mr Van Looks work identified that Mr Van Look had rushed the procedure and 'thrown' the implants into a sub muscular 'pocket' (space underneath the glandular breast tissue and the pectorals muscle) but because he rushed- he did not open up the muscle correctly(my previous implants were sub glandular...'above the muscle') so the implants caused me constant pain for 12 months.-especially after vigorous exercise. I was unable to sleep properly for 12 months and the pain became indescribable. I experienced instant relief when the botched procedure was corrected with new surgeon 2 months ago.
The other thing that Robin Van Look did dreadfully wrong is that he did not 'close off' the pockets correctly so the implants rose too high and ended up 'under my armpits'....resulting in a very unnatural shape and a 'double bubble;' effect where my actual breast tissue on both sides ended up hanging off the end of the implant like a 'snoopy dog nose'.
When I pointed out these mistakes to Robin Van Look in follow up consultations in London...he said the unnatural look was the price one has to pay for 'high boobs'; and that the shape and pain would 'settle over time' . This is obviously completely untrue but I spent many months waiting.
I became an absolute expert on breast implant and reduction procedures 'post botched op' which took place in Antwerp Easter 2019 and spent a year of my life seeing surgeons, coping with the pain and waiting for a year (advised) un til I could get this disaster fixed - I would NOT have considered going back to Robin Van Look to fix even if he had offered me £££ to reoperate and prevent this review.
I will be interested to see if they leave this candid review on the site..if they take it down I will repost if I can -to help other women like me.
Please consider going elsewhere if you are considering this procedure...Robin Van Look is not experienced or qualified enough and he has a totally rammed operation roster...you really will feel like you are on a conveyor belt!
I lost a year of my life because I went to Robin Van Look. The best thing about the trip was Antwerp itself..a lovely City.
