Lumps in breast - necrotic tissue left in surgical field

A few months ago I found a few lumps in one of the breasts Dr Lickstein operated on. After many diagnostic tests run, and several failed biopsies, they couldn't rule out cancer so surgery was performed to remove the lumps. Long story short, the lumps are a result of necrotic tissue left in the surgical field by Dr. L. The tissue broke off and became calcified. Not only that, but he never attached the mesh used to make a pocket for the implant. Which explains why the implant on the other side traveled and came out up by my COLLARBONE. Yup negligence. Both sides. This issue has been repaired now but it should have never happened in the first place.

Going to Dr. LICKSTEIN was the biggest mistake I ever made in my entire life. His first botched surgery, that he then tried( and failed miserably) to correct 7 times is still coming back to haunt me yrs later. 3 additional surgeries, and other well respected, and better qualified surgeons are discovering evidence of his failure to follow proper protocol. I still have another surgery to face. To add insult to injury, the office refuses to provide my medical records to me or any other provider which is a violation of the law. Instead they bullied me. Stay far away from this place if you want a good job done. You certainly won't get it done here.

Thank you for sharing your experience with the community.
There are some good doctors in the Baltimore area. For breast and general cosmetic surgery I recommend Dr Allyson Wells. She is wonderful. For reconstructive work if your surgery has been botched, see the center for reconstructive and plastic surgery at Hopkins. Dr Justin Sacks is the best in the country. He rebuilds people from head to toe --even making new skulls and faces! Great bedside manner and amazing skills. All the surgeons in the department are great and technically perfect. Another doc Dr.Manson removed a tumor from my face 20 yrs ago and you cannot tell I had surgery...ever.
So there are good surgeons out there. And do not accept NO if they won't turnover your medical records. They belong to you! You have the right to them.

I am very sorry to hear that you had such a bad outcome. It makes me very sad to read so many stories like yours-like mine. I am sure it's not easy to to talk about what you've gone through, but it's good that you came here to tell us of your experience with this doctor. Hopefully you can save someone else from having a bad outcome at the hands of this surgeon. It appears that you are not alone. This doctor has botched at least one other person that I know of. Thank you for sharing with us. Emi
Did you ever get your medical records? Did anything come out of filing a complaint? Did you seek legal action? I'm asking b/c I am a patient of Dr. Lickstein's. While I did not have a horrible outcome I did have to have a revision, and it still isn't corrected. I've tried to contact him and my patient coordinator at Belecara, Christina, but they haven't returned calls or emails. Now Lickstein has left Belecara and is now in Fairfax, VA. Curious as to why he left.
They have continued to refuse to provide my medical records to both myself and the doctors who have taken over my case. The investigation is ongoing from my complaint. I cannot comment on legal action, But I will say I find it suspect that he left suddenly. He was practicing in Miami, FLORIDA before coming to Baltimore in 2008. Less than 10 yrs later he is gone. Hmmmmm curious. He was also a "breast expert" when I saw him. He dropped that designation seemingly after my debaucle and went on to just do facial work.
