Age 50, natural shape breasts after breast reduction, but size asymmetry

UPDATED FROM anyadance

18 months after surgery: asymmetry

WORTH IT
While I still think the surgery was worth it and I am very happy with the shape of the breasts and the scars, I must add that the size came out differently (of the breasts and the nipples). It was noticeable from the first day, but with the swelling, etc, I was told not to judge until everything settles. Unfortunately, an almost a cup difference in breasts remains. It was much worse before the surgery, of course, but I am still bothered by this difference. Also, the actual size is smaller than I wanted and expected, especially of the smaller breast. The doctor was not very responsive to my concerns and suggested a consultation with a different surgeon. Anyway, nothing can be done at this point. But again, the surgery itself, the shape of the breasts and the healing went perfectly.

That’s much less than perfect! You aught to make him do something
I was told that size symmetry cannot be guaranteed due to swelling that starts occurring during surgery. I have the same issue following my lift and reduction. But they look so much better than before I’ve come to accept it and if you look at photos on this site it is often the case.
Well, the difference was obvious right away when I came home from the hospital, but they told me that it's the swelling and it should be better when it goes away. Actually, I haven't seen a full size difference in any photos. Is yours like that? The smaller breast is way too small for me, it went from at least F to like a B. That's not what I expected. (The other breast is nice and around C). Also, one nipple is much bigger. I am trying to come to terms with this.
I totally understand, it’s hard. I have definitely seen obvious size differences on here but possibly not that much difference. I’ve also noticed shape differences, nipple differences. I’ve studied them because of my differences. I think it’s possibly hard to get them identical but it does sound like yours are particularly different. It’s very hard when you’re not happy especially when you’ve paid and really looked forward to having “better” breasts.
Thank you. They are better, of course, but yes, after going through a surgery I would not expect to have some of the same issues like a noticeable size difference (which I had before the surgery). I was also upset because the doctor kind of gaslit me for the first few post-op visits saying that she doesn't really see what I'm talking about. She admitted it after about a year.
Is your difference noticeable if you wear a t-shirt without a bra?
Yes it would be noticeable but I felt I couldn’t say anything because of the initial contract saying they can’t guarantee symmetry. So I didn’t mention it to my surgeon.
Same problem I have after my reduction, two different size breasts. My surgeon also tried to tell me he didn’t see a difference and finally admitted after months that he couldn’t do anything about it. They look better than before my surgery, but they are B and C from size D
Same here, but I had more like DD. I wanted C and now it's weird.

Dr Huettner Has Hand of Gold.

The staff at the Breast Reduction Center told me that Dr Huettner is "an artist", and it's true: she is very concerned with the aesthetic side of things. I was initially worried that too much of the breasts would be cut (because this is what the insurance demands), but the size turned out to be just right. My breasts look very natural and the scars are not as bad as I imagined. My nipples are intact, the sensation didn't change. The size is a little different in two breasts but it doesn't bother me (they were very asymmetrical to begin with). Overall it's a beautiful job, I look proportional now. I am 50 and I didn't have such nice breasts even at 20. I highly recommend Dr Huettner. During consultation she focuses too much on not giving you false hopes or not promising any particular size or result. But if you look past that, you can trust that she'll absolutely do the best possible job.
