Breast Reduction

Surgery was yesterday!

WORTH IT
So happy that it’s over and it wasn’t as scary as I thought it would be!
Recovery room was a total blur. I don’t remember anything except not being able to see cause my glasses were with my mom. Then a ton of sweating and nausea while the anesthesia was clearing from my system. I expected that though. Threw up a few times and was pretty sore. My dad said that I was just talking nonsense for hours. I had a hard time staying awake, but also a hard time sleeping.
Today has just been a lot of pain, but no more nausea. I’m not sure these pain meds are even doing anything. It sure doesn’t feel like it, though that’s obviously impossible. Hopefully it will pass soon. I’m definitely experiencing those zaps of pain that shoot through my breast that I have heard people mention.
Have been kinda napping on and off all day.

Previous entry and nerves

The date was obviously screwed up on the previous entry as it was written Feb 1st, not 9 days before my surgery.
My surgery date is now Friday March 29th and I’m crazy excited but of course crazy nervous as well.
This week has been very stressful and I broke out in pimples all around my chin of course.
I’m still trying to get everything taken care of before surgery. Get my parents food situation taken care of, ordered myself prepared meals for two weeks, set up my recovery area with some books and my computer etc. I do still have to run some more errands but nothing huge.
Today I officially found someone to cover for me at my nannying job and it’s someone I’ve known my whole life so I feel a million times better about that. My other friend is going to cover the dogs I walk, so that’s great too. Things are coming together!

Things I’m still nervous about:
Nausea/vomiting after surgery. I get nauseated very easily and with my frequent migraines I often can’t keep any pills down. I’m expecting there to be a lot of problems with this after the surgery. I’m gonna ask about this at my appointment the day before surgery.

Sleeping after surgery. I got one of those U shaped pillows to keep me on my back if sleeping in the recliner is totally undoable. I have trouble sleeping as it is, so I’m worried about struggling with sleep.

Traveling. I have to take a short trip about a month after surgery and I’m gonna have to ask about that. I have compression socks, but I’m not sure what else I could do to avoid any complications.
