WORTH IT
Ever since I was 13 I pretty much had D's and up. I have the worst back pain, shoulder pain, even migraines, and I used to have super bad shoulder grooves until I started wearing 2 bras in hopes that the 4 straps total would help out. I've actually had chiropractors (all male) tell me I didn't need my back worked on, I just needed to stretch and move about. I'm finally at my wits end and am trying to get this approved (by Tricare). I don't have any chiropractor letters though, so we'll see if this is even possible. Waiting on my consultation.

You are doing all of the right things. Lots of documentation will help. Many times insurance companies have a pre determined amount of grams that need to be removed based on height & weight. I would advise calling Tricare and asking what there medical policy is on Breast Reduction - that way you have all of your ducks in a row. I had this surgery and it was an exclusion on my plan - but it was SO worth it. Good Luck!

Thank you I will call them and get more information now and see what I can find out. Just biting my nails waiting for the consultation date as well. I'm trying to gather all the right questions to ask as well.

Hi, I just got my reduction pre-approved, now working on finding the right surgeon and scheduling. I did get a letter from both my chiro and records from physical therapy. I went to 5 PT sessions, then didn't schedule any more because they weren't treating the root cause. Nonetheless, if you can squeeze in some chiro and/or while waiting for your consult, should help your approval. Good luck!!!

OMG – you're literally me (well, except for age; I'm 20 years older). I feel your pain. My advice: Don't wait 20 years like I did. I'm in the beginning of the process myself, and I wish I had had the guts to do it earlier... Best of luck with your plans!

I am laying down for bed and am once again overwhelmed with the weight on my chest and how hard it can be to breathe at times. I also had another heat rash between my breasts today. I seriously hate myself at times like this, wish these worthless tumors were gone.

I am a 40h and dealing with the VA as well for approval. I understand the struggle. Sounds horrible I have went as far as placing femine pads around the bottom of my bras.. or soft socks. And always deodorant. It seems to help with the rashes and pain there. I get larger padded bra straps through lane Bryant. However because I help prevent these things the VA doesn't seem concerned because I don't exhibit bad rashes or severe indentions.... it's dumb... if you prevent it you are punished if you don't you suffer

Another bit of background

I'm really bad at remembering all my pieces to the puzzle so I just realized using this wonderful ap can help me document things for my doctor and not just fellow people with similar issues.

This is a photo of when I was 16. My breasts are so absolutely enlarged thanks to trying to wear a normal tank top. I wanted to dress up ONCE and it backfired so completely. Beyond the cleavage (all that and its still only like 3/4 of my breasts), you can even see the rest of chest pushing through the bottom and side piece.

My posture in this photo is horrible thanks to the weight I was toting around in a 16 year old's body. I literally couldn't straighten up to save my life. Only now with training my body have I even somewhat recovered my posture, but at the price of horrible back pain from straining away from where the weight is pulling me. I was also wearing a normal bra in that photo but had believed I was merely a dd at that time so I tried to squeeze into one.
